Its not expensive to create a WP app. There are actually MSFT tools that will port your android or iOS code to a WP friendly format, plus WP uses HTML5 for apps as well, and just about any code jockey could make an HTML5 app for this in hours since SE would have the API already.

It is not hard to have this app and shows a lack of commitment to protect our accounts. KeyFobs are not an acceptable alternative.

(By the way they have physical ones you can buy and are infact an acceptable alternative you just choose not to take the initiative and thus place the blame on SE for not supporting a very, very low market of users.)

I see declining sales shares for Blackberry and iOS and increasing sales shares for Android and Windows...

I'm a bit baffled as to why people would be actively against SE expanding access to account security features. This would be a win on all sides except account hackers...

You always seem confused or baffled when people won't fully support the LCD - Even app developers rarely support Windows phone, it's not just SE.

I just get confused when people are outright against things that don't hurt them and may in fact help them (by reducing the number of hacked accounts). >_>;

Yeah as said, it's largely likely due to it having almost nil support in Japan lol, since honestly, Android phones seem to be the biggest thing right now either due to the fact windows phone seem to be the most expensive or simply because android/ios is the easiest to push out and have the most deals with companies. Even though someone said buying a keyfob isn't an alternative, both can be session hijacked so if you own a windows phone and your only option is a keyfob and you'd much rather go without the extra security since you can't get a 'free' version...that's pretty bad :\

I'd rather have the fob over the app though honestly. (I got both since I'm still using mine from my 1.0 CE back in 2010.)

Except most of these people aren't against it. They do however know WHY it's not happening. Has nothing to do with being against it.

We are posting many reasons why SE could possibly not be doing it right now. We aren't against it.

Blackberry use to have a 15% market share and has dropped so much in recent years because their smartphones and service has lacked over the years compared to bigger shares like Android and iPhones.

Just because they gained some percentage, windows is still a very very low market share and its share is even lower in Japan.

Also SE has been making mobile games for iOS and Android for years. So they know the programming well. They have released only 2 windows phone games and nothing new for it since March of 2013.

Not for SE, who has to spend time, money, and manpower to develop that. I imagine that the ROI for developing such a thing wouldn't make the minimum.

You don't do everything for ROI in big companies.
Most of the big companies write applications for Windows Phone, not because it's very profitable, but because it's better from marketing point of view.

And to be honest as a developer I can surely say that time and manpower for writing such basic application is absymal at best.

SE responded to THIS thread?! Now I'm tempted to bump up my thread about Mac support again and hope for the same luck, on a far more important luxury item.
