    Whats the max population each ffxiv server can handle?

    I know the population is kinda low, but what is the max each server can handle? On certain areas during certain days and times, I would lag so bad, like every time I do an action, even an emote, I would r0. This would be a big problem with people coming back to the game or when ps3 people come in.

    well judging from the "Beta", the Shadowlord server was up to 3k people at one point for a few minutes.
    And...it was laggy for quite some time until servers crashed or something lol.

    But for all i know now, things might have gotten better, but even so i doubt theres
    any server with close to 2k people online at the same time even today.

    After a maint everything so fast, menus opening up speedy n stuff, its almost like client side, then after an hr when more login it becomes to its usually laggy self. They can probaly host a lot on at a time, but it wouldnt be a good gaming experience for us, be very very very laggy. I'd say about 5k before it becomes pretty much unplayable.

    Probably only 800-1k active at a time on the most popular servers.

    Thats the thing though, the UI does seem to be improving but is that only because the population is lower? Maybe when we get a surge of players like at PS3 release we will be back to square one with everything being really laggy.

    Given the server side nature of the interface and how at release there were 4k people till it started denying logging in...I'd say these server can handle at least 5k people while experiencing interface issues. XI's can handle 10k iirc with no issues except for zone capping, i.e 800 damn people in port jeuno......

    The lag is due to the core system being mess up not due to how many players are playing in a giving day. In ffxi i play in bahamut where it was 3-4k in prime hours i play without issue. FFXIV have more problem then just gameplay the servers--Core system--> all mess up they need to upgrade there servers and fix the core system to fix the lag issue. Without a core system update and server update they can't even make it so we could trade more then 8 slot per trade or allow us to change price of our item without taking it out and reselling it.

    Top of all that lag issue could also be your computer and many other stuff so at this point it can be anything or everything.

    Yeah, they never fixed UI lag.

    Lots of people just quit.

    At release the servers would start queing people when there was around 3400 people online at once. They had a patch that increased that number I believe though.

    no i can't say i believe it was ever fixed. after every patch and there is a major influx of people the game is laggy until those people leave again. how can they expect to bring in more players if they can't support just the returning players from the release?
