I have the same problem, error 6001 tried to get in like 10 times, same prob, someone tell us why pls!!!

I can't even begin to list what I've gone through this morning after being kicked and lobby server errors one after another for 2 hours. I updated all my drivers, restarted my computer and internet, reset my p/w, changed a document in for the game, reset my options to default in game, set up game configuration, took it off of fullscreen and windowed mode, tried it on the PS3, tried my husbands account, even system restored my computer, the list goes on while all morning trying to figure out if i'm the only one or whats going on. It took me an hour and a half to find this thread and read the update from FFXIV released at 7am pst (which im in) All Im saying is they could have made their post about this issue a lot more visible at the login screen. Would have saved me a lot of time and effort trying to fix an issue that has nothing to do with me or my equipment. Frustrating to say the least. And im sorry in advance for all the typos my computer is still restoring and updating itself so im having to use my phone =/

Serena, in general, going to such effort is really going nuclear, and wholly unnecessary. Follow the evidence and don't be heavy-handed with your troubleshooting - it's usually something else unconnected with your own setup.

Maren Ive played mmos for years. My first reaction is to look for evidence on forums or internet that its not me then I go into troubleshooting mode but next time I do believe Ill be more patient lol. Im so addicted to the game its unreal XD I just wanna finish farming my wind shards darn it! Ahaha!

Seriously people, unless you've been shut out of the game for more than 24 full hours, chill out. Even then, each potential hour of playtime in an entire month is only worth $0.02 (even less for Legacy players) so no they do NOT need to refund you your two cents for an unexpected technical issue that occasionally shows up in ALL electronics devices ever, especially the more complicated systems in the server networks of operations at a scale such as this.

Even if you've been locked out of the game for 12+ hours, they'd owe you 25 cents. Boohoo. There's this thing called Real Life that you could do for a few hours until they get it sorted out. I'm upset I that can't log on, but I'm mature enough to not flip out about it. Chill guys.
