Just saying that you seems to be the only one having this tanking problem ...
Building the game around one person problem only seems ... wasteful ...

I am perfectly aware of how to open fights. That isn't the problem. If you're fighting a boss, you start with 2 Shield Lobs and a Flash as you run by into position which gives you enough enmity to get through your first combo. If it's trash mobs, it's one Shield Toss and a few Flashes.
And if everyone else in your Main Scenario run is supposedly ilvl 90, then get the ilvl 90 tank to tank and pick up the adds he misses and you'll have enough tombs to gear yourself up to ilvl ~70 in no time.
I really hope the team at SE understands where I am coming from here. I don't expect all players to get it, especially those who don't have the same experiences us newer players have.
I am not the only person experiencing these issues. Use Google and again here.

Having a GC weapon is what's generally holding you back. If you spammed Ifrit Hard you would already have a somewhat decent weapon to hold you over until your Relic Quest. It's not the job itself, Yes it's harder to hold enmity as a Paladin if you're severely undergeared compared to the rest but if that is an issue to you. You should consider prioritizing yourself on fights that help you obtain better gear or spend gil on obtaining the higher Ilvl weapons/armor.

at this point what your doing is not the problem, but you are running dungeons with people better geared than you. you will lose hate in situations like this. it is going to happen, you and the other people with you will have to deal with it.I just told you. Running over to the other enemy means you STOP focusing on what you were tanking before and give opportunities to lose the threat lead on it.
Basically your theorycrafting only works under the most ideal situations. You are completely ignoring the actual realities encountered when playing the game, which is bad DPS or not, when the party wipes the tank gets blamed and people are quick to vote abandon.
grabbing a weapon from a primal as a stepping stone to relic and starting to gear using CT/mythology tomestones would be a good starting point. the guide posted here is moreso assuming that everyone has the same gear item level.
Again, you are blaming the player. I have been running Ifrit Hard for 4 hours a day as a stun whore off-tank. But when DPS don't take down nails it drags the process out.Having a GC weapon is what's generally holding you back. I have read all the guides. There is not a single solitary thing you can say that comes from the guides that I don't already know and have been following. Stop insulting my intelligence and listen to what I am saying.
Besides. I have serious doubts that an item lv 60 weapon is going to magically fix threat issues against item 90 folks.
PS. The Thornmarch weapon is better than the Garuda weapon and easier to run than Ifrit. Only problem I've had is lots of people don't know the kill order.

If the DPS can't take down the nails, it just means they aren't overgearing you ...
Anyway it's a MMORPG, like multiplayer ... If you and your party can't communicate to build a strategy to succeed, there are nothing the developers can do to help you beside nerfing the contents to Kingdom come ...
It's not "cant take down nails". It's not "all DPS are attacking the nails".If the DPS can't take down the nails, it just means they aren't overgearing you ...

They have the gear. A lot of people gear their DPS from whoever was their main. Doesnt mean they know how to play, or that some believe they can ignore their job and let someone else do it.
Since when was I insulting your intelligence? You stated spamming halone without combo is better than a complete combo. You stated that the 10% Damage debuff is pointless because you can dodge AOE's and you have your defensive cooldowns. Which is completely incorrect. You're basically blaming the job of your enmity problems rather than the I-level difference.
No it's not going to fix your enmity problems but it'll be a step up of what you originally had. You'll always have problems keeping enmity if your gear isn't up to par to the DD's.
Then unless they are trolling and not willing to win the fight, ask them to kill the nails, set marks and go hit them too ...It's not "cant take down nails". It's not "all DPS are attacking the nails".

Welcome to "bad players exist in MMOs". This has nothing to do with Paladin's tanking ability though. It's not "cant take down nails". It's not "all DPS are attacking the nails".

I get the feeling this thread has turned into a general rant about stuff, in which case "WHY CAN'T I GET MORE MYTHS EVERY WEEK!?"
