The reason why FFXI economy survived through the entire game is that they enabled the pairing of craft + drop items to create the best in slot.
If instead of enemies in coil dropping 50gil they make it drop (rarely) crafting materials that paired with the items to 'polish' them back to full condition ilv95.
They do this for Relic+1 weapons and they can do the same for coil armor.. Buff it to lv95 when used 12 ingots crafted from TIV/TV nodes and dropped materials from Coil.
Instantly gil would circulate and people without it could start to get 1 drop a week or more and snag some for themselves.
The drop system as it is now just hands everything to you on a silver platter.
Can even implement a cost involved in currency to further the trade.
As well as this coupled with the market taxes the flow of gils would be revived.
Of course the DynaCoilTower Lv2 would need to be longer then a 5 min romp stomp and more like CT.
