    I'm not entirely sure what my problem is. I can play the game perfectly fine, no lag (except for some minor lag in populated areas, and even then it isn't super noticeable), but every time I go in a dungeon, I'll always without fail get either a lag spike that freezes the world around me for 20-30 seconds, or I'll get a 90k. Or both.

    And the kicker is, it only seems to happen once in a dungeon. I will go the entire run perfectly fine, and then suddenly on one boss (it doesn't seem to matter which), I'll suddenly lag out or 90k. Even more annoying is that this wasn't a problem until recently, I believe after one of the small minor patches we had. Before that, I never had any trouble in dungeons with lag or 90k's, except once in a blue moon. But since then, I've had at least freeze lag in any dungeon I've done almost without fail, and plenty of 90k's along with them. It's a bit annoying being unable to do dungeons for fear of this happening.

    (And yes, I've checked with my ISP, it's fine. My connection is fine, I have no dc'ing or crashing problems with any other games I own, whether single-player or MMO. At this point the only thing I can figure is something is up with SE's server. What exactly, I don't know.)

    I hadn't had major lag issues, until the last patch was implemented. Which scares me as my main is whm.. because suddenly my FPS start freezing randomly and deathga starts to happen. It mainly has hit me during random parts of CT and once on Garuda X. I have most party/alliance effects off which usually helped ease the issue. 4 man dungeons, instances, fates seem ok otherwise.. but like I said, never happened before the last patch. I also play on PS3, but I don't blame my console, I've played MMO's on console for a long time without any qualms. Having ran a long stint with SE in FFXI and now ARR, it could be buggy, usually with one patch they fix a bunch of other things and then more issues arise elsewhere. So probably will smooth over next patch -_^;

    Please look up other threads before posting. This has been beaten pretty much to death already, and pretty much already determined what the issue is.

    It's not your ISP, it's not "technically" SE, the packet loss is occurring between Ormuco -> Level 3. Full Path: SE -> Ormuco (Data Solutions) -> Level-3 (Content Delivery Network) -> [Your ISP] -> Your hardware. SE pays Ormuco, Ormuco pays Level-3, etc. SE more than likely knows about this (unconfirmed) because they are not getting what they are paying for from Ormuco, who in turn is not getting what they are paying for from Level-3. Level-3 is notoriously a pain to work with solutions-wise, and you will not hear about any of these companies, by name, from SE because that would be professionally inept.

    But, I don't have a Canada ISP >.> and I am having lag so... em /beats post to death some more ._.

    Last night and the previous night, I was getting a bit of lag. It was almost the same instance of lag that I got when we had the FFXI and DQX events. I would be getting loading screens when zoning, but these would last up to 2 minutes at a time. All I was doing last night was teleporting to Aleport for a BTN quest, so I don't know what the issue was for.

    My game was running great last night when all of a sudden everything just stopped responding and I got a 90k. Could only get back into the game after loading up WTFast.

    Curse that Level3 router in Montreal. Must have reached its weekly limit for unfiltered traffic to SE when all the Monday night people logged in. -.-

    So if Level3.net is a confirmed crap system why isn't SE dropping them and using someone else? In the end it comes down to SE's fault as they are certainly aware of the issues and even if it is a problem with Level3.net SE should step in and say "hey fix your crappy system or we will use someone else"! But instead we have no official report from SE at all and just a ton of player complaints and speculation.

    Because SE doesn't deal with Level3 directly. Their ISP is Ormuco, AFTER Ormuco it hits Level3. Level3 is also one of the few backbone providers you can even get through to get to the servers and you typically don't have a choice of which you go through. What you're saying is like asking your ISP to fix google.com because it's slow for you, when they have no control over google at all.
