    Turn 5 - Fireballs - No SMN/SCH

    Hi guys,

    I may have already solved this issue and doesn't even seem like an issue, but I wanted to discuss it nonetheless.

    Recently we ran turn 5 with:
    PLD - MT
    WAR - OT
    2x WHM
    DRG
    BLM
    2x BRD

    My question is:
    What is the best way to handle and divide the group for Phase 2 Fireballs/Conflagration?

    Group 1: WHM, BRD, BLM, WAR
    Group 2: WHM, BRD, DRG
    With OT running between groups?

    I'd do it 3:4 having the OT stay at the caster's side. But it still depends on the HP of the 2 Bards.

    Have your group call out who is getting the fireball and have the war move to stand with that group to help absorb it.

    Think you've already solved it. Just have someone, preferably your OT, run between groups.

    2 whm seems tough for this fight, not because of fairies, but since the fight is more of a mitigation then healing one.

    Yeah I'd highly recommend you get a SCH, 2xWHM is the worst possible combination of healers for this fight.

    We do have a SCH for this fight, but as a replacement we ran 1-4 with 2x WHM this week.
    The main purpose of the fight is to further explore the possible scenarios and how people can deal with them.

    What specifically does SCH provide over WHM in this fight?

    Aldo before DS?
    Enh.Virus? (I don't know if DS is physical or magical)

    Thorauku suggested having 3:4, we can tank it having 3 players, what's the argument against this method? Honestly it looks to simplify the issue.

    The issue with a 3 stack is that, depending on your HP, you can still get RNG'd for a higher damaging fireball that wipes the group.

    Lustrate is great in that fight considering not only can WHM not get around the Infirmity debuff but one WHM is enough to AOE heal the group. Adlo is amazing too especially if your SCH has great crit. That said I'm pretty sure WHMx2 is fine for this fight with practice, it's undoubtedly been done before.


    And what Nichigo said. Sometimes the game will just hate you.

    Sorry this is wrong, I've countered infirmity by timing a stone skin before death sentence, then putting out a cure 2 exactly when it hits but before debuff. Which would top tank off following a regen.
    And when fireball hits I use cure 3 which tops everyone hit.

    And scholars are very much needed, for instance, when snakes are killed, twin limit breaks, using the fairy defense moves + extra healing moves + feys covenant really helps to top everyone off quickly. Lustrate of course is the main reason, while other situations such as adding the fairy to the fireball soak team for conflagration phase. And another is helping limit break build faster because the more of the same jobs you have, the slower lb builds
