Keep on thinking that, I've converted many on this list from retail to steam.

I will pay for the convenience, regardless. However, why argue to begin with and give false info/assume.

Wow. OK. Had no idea they did more. Only one I ever did was UT3 which was the first IIRC.

Looked over the list again. Most all of them were SteamWorks from the get go. So yeah you can use their keys in Steam. FFXIV however is not a SteamWorks game.

But again like I said. UT3 was never a SW game and you can put the codes in. Honestly I would not hold my breath if SE allows the codes to be used. But then there are people like me who have no idea what their codes are. I was in 1.0 and lost that paper ages ago.

Wonder if this would cause problems that ordered their game directly from SE (Digital River).

DCS World, it's modules, and DCS standalones weren't SteamWorks originally and were only available thru the developer's site at first.

When it came to Steam, the developer converted its key database and worked with Steam to get them all added.

In the end it comes down to Steam & the Developer both working together. However, I'm sure that comes with a price and if its even feasible to SE.

I think SE must make something with current situation, probably give us some possibility to upgrade current accounts with steam keys to get all Steam benefits (like steam wallet as payment option, or CE items for those who buy CE version in steam).

There are already many ways to pay this game. Credit Cards, services like Play Span (there are others but forgot the names). Theres also by buying Crysta and the newest addition Time Game cards that are available in EU and NA now. So you dont really need any steam wallet.

Apparently you dont know what you need. For the record .... I do have a steam account and I use it sometimes but people need to understand that is NOT a MUST to play a game and that any game can be play without the use of Steam. Steam is just an interfase Gateway to download almost any game but thats it, but all those games came from somewhere and they can be obtain in other ways.

When Adoulin came out the only way to get the expansion on Steam was to get the whole Ultimate Adoulin Collection instead of just the expansion itself which was more expensive if you already owned the previous Ultimate Collection, so it might be better having ARR off Steam too in case something like that ever happens again, you never know. I don't think there's any P2P or B2P MMO that's offered Steam keys after launching there or alongside their standalone clients, though the only one I own and can think of is The Secret World, it's really not that big of a deal though I can see why people would like a Steam copy for the integration features or just for having all their games in one client.
