Ok, but all endgame in not Coil. Was saying it should be banned from all endgame an exaggeration?

Also, DL body gives no Accuracy to begin with. Even for Coil, there's no reason to avoid CT body/helm.
Personally:
DL Body, Legs, Hands on my Paladin and only upgraded my accessories to iL90 via Myth & Allagan.
This put me around iL80/82 and with enough HP and accuracy to work through to T4 without accuracy issues on my PLD.
Once I got the main body from Turn 1 I bought the Myth head - the only piece from CT I'd considering is Breeches of Light since Valor Leg slot will take two weeks of Myth.
Darklight + il80/90 Accessories is the better route - in my opinion.
Valor pants and warrior of light boots are a good combo to replace DL legs
I did this as well.... Never even bought the DL Flanchard.... Simply not worth the grind IMO, however this was my main also. So I was able to pick up the Valor boots, and the DL Heavy armor at the same time. Also I currently Tank in Coil with Light Armor you'll be fine.
He's being dumb. CT gear is better than DL as long as you're reaching the accuracy cap. And there's little reason to not have CT gear instead of DL pieces that have no acc. on them at all.
Because I already have a second class and could get the Warrior primal weapon I skipped all of the DL except a couple accs and went straight to myth+CT stuff. Depending on where you stand with myth it shouldn't be too hard to work around DL.
In the name of being efficient I certainly wouldn't spend philo on DL unless it had acc or you really need it.

CT PLD gear is terrible as a full set, but is insanely usefull when you want to balance your char. If you equip a full CT gear, you'll lack accuracy. But if you use it to balance your gear, and just equip one or 2 pieces at a time, it's fine.
