Way to spoil our April 1. At least have the decency to use spoiler tags.I wait for the day someone with SE, with a very evil sense of humor, "turns off" Apkallu spawning and puts out a press release:
"The Apkallu have been hunted to extinction. Lord Gegeruju feasted on the carcass of the last known Apkallu with three of his closest umfriends two nights ago..."
...then maybe a little miniquest, "So...if you want more Apkallu Eggs, you must seek out a well-hidden, crafty breeding pair that are TRULY the last two living birds..."

your statement here makes little sense.
A) it is a 'legitimate way' used by many not just botters.
B) if you do not want to be dependent on 'price gouging' botters/crafters, then gather/make your own.
C) you say you want stuff that you 'need' but from the looks of the lodestone you havent even touched CUL. so i am uncertain as your 'need' in this matter beyond possibly wanting to be able to sell more on the MB or you want the market for deviled eggs to crash so you dont have to pay the current prices (see B).

This... a million times this. Apkallu eggs are selling for a high price on my server and farmed so heavily that you're lucky to even lay claim to a bird let alone get a drop. When they finally DO drop, they only drop a single egg.
The mobs scarcity combined with over-farming and low drop rates make this a pain to get by any means other than purchasing them from botters. The only ones who this will hurt are the ones who endlessly farm the items and sell them at OTT prices. We culinarians will do just fine, thanks.

What bugs me in the discussions about availabilty of drops needed for receipes is that most of the time, it's about markets and being able to make GIL. I couldn't care less about markets and GIL because I do not sell buffood. But I love to make buffood for myself and friends and it is a true pain in the ass to compete against the 24/7 camped Apkallus just in order to get myself a stack from time to time when I run out of stock.
It is always the same, be it Diremite webs or fleeces before they raised the drop rate. I didn't compete with people who need them for their crafters who want to craft something for their own need but with people who want to make GIL through Sales, be it bots or regular players. Before you start considering market issues SE, please consider own requirements first. Selling and becoming rich is a luxury because you don't need that much GIL in this Game (ridiculous housing prices left aside). But being able to equip and buff the characters you play should be more essential when you design recepies. Find a way so that a regular player can make use of the items for own requirements. Everything else is a Goodie. IMO.

I think people have a real issue disassociating the price of the ingredients and the price of the crafted goods. Sometimes items are sold for LESS than their component parts (just look at any NQ 2-star equip), and sometimes they're considerably more expensive. Knights Bread is relatively cheap to craft yet because of the amount of ingredients required and the craft level, people will still happily buy it. The higher level you go, the more true that becomes.
Bots are a problem yes but you cant go ahead and make everything easy acces just because bots are gathering it.
Its hard enough to make money in this game we dont need to make it harder just because a few individuals cant be arsed to fight for the eggs or buy them from the market.

To destroy the Apkallu Eggs prices?
Just put in more Apkallus. This way more Apkallus can killed for more eggs instead of less Apkallus for more eggs. Or high level Apkallus in a new high level zone. Level 55 or higher.
SE should just put in some more leves with Apkallus and put more Apkallus into tresure enemy spawn. And maybe also an Apkallu endboss in a dungeon?
With the extra fee the people save time instead to make it themself. Especially if it just a igredience for the actually recipe they want to craft. As example Knights Bread are needed for Stuffed Artichoke.
So you complain that the prices on buff food are too high and complain that there is nothing to spend all the gil?It is always the same, be it Diremite webs or fleeces before they raised the drop rate. I didn't compete with people who need them for their crafters who want to craft something for their own need but with people who want to make GIL through Sales, be it bots or regular players. One way to combat this would be for SE to put a cap on how many of an item you can farm in a given period of time.
It would stop the 24/7 botters from endlessly gathering crafting ingridents.
Then again, I'm sure someone would complain that they had the day off from work and wanted to gather 9999 of an item and are being hurt by SE's new policy.
There's really no way to win![]()

NO we do not need another damaging drop increase on the markets supply and demand take a economy class and quit begging for things. This cry for help will only screw things up
