Issues reclaiming mounts

I may be overlooking something.

I have an alt character that has a Legacy chocobo whistle, but cannot summon their mount. Was wondering if there is a certain main story or side story quest that needs to be done to unlock mounts in general?

- It seems as though completing MS to level 15 doesn't do it.
- However, I have seen some that haven't yet made it to MS level 15 quests that can summon the chocobo already.
- The Achievement "My Little Chocobo" isn't connected to Legacy chocobos. Or is it?
- Joining a GC doesn't seem to be required.

Yes, you have to finish the main story quests up to level 20. This applies to all mounts including Legacy. If someone hasn't finished the story up to that point and they're on a mount, they're either lying about how far they are, they're cheating, or they're using the Chocobo Porter.

I was disappointed to learn that when trying to use the Voidal Resonator mount on a alt. I figured since it was given as a loyalty reward and wasn't a chocobo, I could use it at a early level. Nope. Sad day.

You need to buy your chocobo license from your grand company if you don't did it during 1.0

In short, the requirement to ride any mount is a GC Chocobo.

This makes sense, since my alt character is not progressed in the story nearly as far as my main, therefore she never unlocked GC or chocobo in 1.0. Thank you for posting this ^^

I suppose mounts in general are tied to the My Little Chocobo achievement. I guess I can live with that, just means I got a ways to go
