    To the devs, some thoughts and a petition for the future of Eorzea.

    This post is for the developers, i don't intend to discuss here about content or game mechanics i'm just asking for imformation.
    Since the launch we had 1 mayor update and another that is coming on march, both updates are releasing exactly the same kind of content we already had from day 1.
    All the content we have is instanced and party locked.
    There's no class and jobs personalization.
    Gear progession is vertical (item lvl based, new gear will always be btetter, no personalization gear wise)
    Open world content is non existent, beastmen quest, treasure hunt and fates are not rewarding for a lvl50 player, you can't make your lvl50 character progress doing such content.
    Bosses are all about memorization, strategy is not involved, they are repetitive and boring.
    Crafting is useless, tomestones and dungeon/raid gear is always better than crafted gear.
    Materia caps makes the system useless and again makes the crafting useless.

    This is the way the game is right now, and i don't like it, like many other players.
    I really want to see the future of this game, but i need to know is the money i put on this game will be used to create something i will be able to enjoy with my friends, son i want to ask to Yoshida about the future of the game.

    please could you make a letter from the producer talking about the future of this game, and the changes and different content we will see on the future?

    There are some questions i would like to see answered:

    Will we see open-world content that is rewarding? (useful gear and may be tome stones)
    Will we ever see more personalization regwarding character progression and gear? (different gear with different stats, not the basic ones, and more useful cross-class skills)
    Will all the bosses be highly encrypted and predictable? (battles are not fun and strategy is not needed)
    Will crafting be improved making crafted gear better or equal than tome stones and dungeon/raid gear?


    On a side note, some words to Yoshida with the hope of changing his mind:

    Fearing RMT activities, exploits and possible harassment you are just limiting the potential of this game, stop using those as excuses and start thinking about the possibilities of this wonderfull world you have helped to create.

    PD: i write this post in a simple way because i intend to translate it with google and post it on the japanese forums.

    I have been following this game since the 1.0, and still i don't have answers to my concerns.

    PD: this is a serious post if you donit have something valuable to say, please, don't post, there are more threads to troll.

    will not happend! they don't want to see place over camped for stuff and it become a pain to get acces to some content, because too many or too little people to one place. open world content have a lot of flaws and find a way to counter it is hard.

    they plan to add more specific stats when the game will be more balanced, like more effect for this skill or even new effect. but for now no eta on this.

    random boss in a game like FF14 are probably not possible, we are not into an action type mmorpg. they can add some sort of random but not that much. random boss are simply hellish to balance.

    will not happend.. simply because it will be pointless to do dungeon/raid or tomes if you can purchase with gil stuff, it will lead to an increase of the rmt. however they plan to add new crafting recipe with the 2.2, i guess you will have an answer to your question with this one.

    ps: all your question was answered countless time, simply need to check more the forum. true, some of this question was answered while the beta and maybe you haven't seen all this answer.

    This game is the best we have. FFXI got nuked and the mutants are running around, EQ is almost 20 years old, all the free to play games are atrocious. Just hope that we get a new game that is awesome and hope it is FF themed

    I know the answers they gave us regarding some of my questions, that's the cause of the side note.
    Balancing open world content and some randomness on bosses it's hard, but possible.
    Regarding crafting, the mats used fot high lvl recipes could be dropped from hard boses or even exchanged for tomes.
    As i said before we can't make a game fearing the RMTs, balancing issues or harassment and competition, that's just limiting our fun, they are supposed to take countermeasures about said problems but not limite the game.

    OP this is an MMO so a lot of the things you're asking about aren't able to implement.
    -Open World content works great for single player games but when they are used in MMO's open world doesn't work because it turns into a massive zerg feast and hard to access because of lag.
    -Random bosses again works well for single player but in a MMO are a nightmare to balance even in the more action MMO which still use heavily scripted battles.
    -Crafting high level gear equal to myth or above not gonna happen because it will make doing dungeons and raids pointless

    Renik a lot of the content you want is geared toward single player games but not MMOS. If you played a lot of MMO's you know they can't just add content without balancing it with everything out.

    I have played a lot of MMOs, EQ, EQ2 and FFXI had a lot of open world content, high end crafted gear and not fully encypted bosses, and those 3 games have produced huge profits and have had lots of subscribers, and they are still working.
    This "everything instanced mode" is somthing that have been implemented to copy WoW and save lots of balancing work to get cheap, easy and quick money.

    Right now Everquest next it's being designed with open world content and high AI bosses, so it's possible, hard but possible, the reason why i'm fighting for this game instead of moving to EQnext is because i love ff.

    The short answer for the vertical progression problem is simply that we aren't at final level cap and are most likely looking at a cap increase by the fall. It's actually surprising they're doing as much vertical progression as well knowing they'll be upping the cap. All the current content will in the near future become almost mid-level content like AF and Shadow Lord became in FFXI. Once the cap increases and we're going to be the same level for a good 2-3 years and they're satisfied with the class balance they'll start the sidegrade gear with resistances and the like. As for open world content...what's to say the beastman dailies wont continue to increase in level? The ones they put in for 2.1 were very obviously there to help fill the quest gap from 40-50. The 2.2 batch might all be 50+. They want nothing to do with FFXI style NMs and I don't blame them. Even when some drops were changed to Rare/EX the camping was ridiculous and a massive time waste.
