    Dark Minstrel/Dark Ranger >>-D->

    a few class mashups i came up with. {Dark Minstrel}= (Bard) heavy on thaumaturge abilities. {Dark Ranger}= (Archer) heavy on thaumaturge abilities. Mind you these are only SUGGESTIONS, to be taken with a grain of salt so to speak. The Dark Ranger path is for those who simply do not care for Bard.

    Sounds more like something you would see, not as an advanced job, but as a grand job. For example, obviously to unlock a job you need 30/15 in 2 specific classes. for a grand job, you may need 50/30 or 50/50 in 2 specific classes. Would give people reasons to play their varied classes rather than just stick with one, if they gave us a further stage of soul gems, would it not?

    You should define them more...
    Like what would the difference be between Bard and Dark Minstrel or Dark Ranger?
    What's their focus?
    What would combining a physical DPS (archer) with a magic DPS (thaumaturge) be like? What are some of their skills?
    Etc, etc, etc...

    @mimilu like i said before these are suggestions what you do with them is up to you, also the difference between the two is quite obvious {drk mnstrl} has bard abilities the other doesnt

    Lets theory some on the idea then. since 30-50 only gets you 6 abilities based off your job, that leaves six options. not being BRD any longer would lose a few abilities, but nothing tremendous. You would lose your tp, mp, and weakness songs. In place, you would gain Darkness Beckons at 30.
    Darkness Beckons - 60sec recast, 30sec duration, adds a small amount of additional damage to each targets truck by your DOTs and direct attacks. Lets estimate it at 10% of the dmg of the direct hit, 10% of the dmg of the DOT. the detrimental side of it would be taking additional damage while its active. lets estimate around 20% extra.
    Next at 35 you would get Well of Shade.
    Well of Shade - 90sec recast, 15sec duration, Places an AOE on the ground, similar in size and function to Shadow Flare of an ACN, but instead of damage and slow, it would be mild damage and BLIND. Would give a very nice support, a weaker version of blind than flash/ruin 2, and would give DRN an offensive support ability.
    Next is 40, which would be Soul Devour.
    Soul Devour - 45sec recast, 3 "charge" duration, the next 3 abilities used will drain the power from their target, giving the DRN using the ability up to 50% damage dealt returned as HP. Would give a very nice ability to recover some hp without being a burden on the healers having to peel off the tanks.
    Next is 45, which would bestow Carnage Anthem.
    Carnage Anthem - 3sec cast time, similar to BRD songs in the fact they drain MP while active, but instead of giving a buff to the party, it applies a debuff to the targets in its range, slowly draining their hp. the MP tick would be twice as fast as BRD songs, so around 170/tick, meaning its maximum duration would be near the area of 30-33sec. The tick damage would not be insane either, similar to having just Flaming Arrow up on a target for its full duration.
    Finally comes the big boy, level 50, which would allow use of Signet of Malice.
    Signet of Malice - 180sec recast, 30sec duration, Places a Signet on the target enemy, marking them as the scorn of your rage. The buff would act similar to Disembowel, but stack alongside it as another type of damage taken buff, of 10%. Fair to keep it on par with other DPS, and enhances everyones damage for that 30sec, not just drg and arc classes. Would be great for those moments you have to pour on the damage as quickly as possible, and a long enough recast it isnt overly unbalanced.
