A better guild crest system would be nice

the "MS Paint ripoff" thing is probably not going to happen.

I doubt SE wants a bunch of linkshells with penis emblems next to their names running around.

That's why GMs are there...inapropriate content. If a dude draw a dick as their crest all he will have is trouble with GMs. Just like its extremely rare seeing inapropriate character/LS names, same will happen with LS crests.

I wish the linkshell crests more closely resembled a coat of arms and less like something my brother could come up with in MS Paint in under 5 minutes.

Preferably, all linkshells start with the same, rudimentary list of art to place on their crest. But as the LS progresses through the game, and start getting achievements under their belt, the list of art for the crest explodes. Killed a certain NM during a raid, put it on your crest. Won over 100 airship battles and are now the terror of the skies, add that to your crest as well.

Something that is dynamic, fluid and grows with your character and LS. Not something where you are stuck with the gaudy colors and plain pattern that the LS leader picked almost a year ago.

If they were updated heavily with some embossing~depth and better borders...maybe. Or if they'd allow us to make our own designs with preset images or lines and shapes and at the very least let us choose our own colors for each part, they could be better. As they are now its just a flat image and looks so horrible...

Oh, I never even considered that! Now I want crests that's three dimensional, fully customizable and have lots of details.

SE, you need to improve on the crests and make this happen.

As an example, I just threw this together using Photoshop...only took a few min so its not spectacular but its an idea of what I'd prefer to see. Using an existing emblem, I added a thicker beveled border, embossed the white background of the crest a little to make it stand out, and for the diamonds; I darkened the color and added some contour to give them depth.

I like it! It's the least that they could do to make the emblems more visually appealing. If I had my way, I'm add an editor for creating detailed coat of arms, but I don't know how they would appear shrunken down to the size of the crests.
