The LS symbol is yet another thing that during beta I thought, "This is a cute placeholder, I can't wait to see what it'll be like when retail hits!"

I really don't see why the current system needs to be so limited in colors and design choices. There are way too many LSes that accidentally pick the same design and color as another LS.
