    Dead spots (no music)

I enjoy the music in arr but I feel like there are too many areas in different zones that are just dead spots with no music or it takes a bit to start playing the track. I think it'd be cool if they filled most of the dead spots with music and sped up the rate at which the track starts to play in some spots.

Keep in mind as well, most of the tracks are incredibly short.

Heh, in FFXI there were many, many, many entire zones that had no music in them at all. When the game first released, only like 3 total non-city zones had music at all, and it barely got better from there. ARR is a pretty big improvement over that, I think. It's not great... but it could be much, MUCH worse.

That's true. I actually kind of liked the fact that some zones didn't have music in XI. It made me focus on the environmental sounds, and gave me the feeling that I was adventuring out into the wilds. Over time, however, I started to miss having music, and I was happy when expansions like Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan started adding more areas with background themes.

When XIV version 1.0 came out and almost everything had music, I kind of felt like it swung a bit too far in the opposite direction. Personally, I like the balance that ARR has struck, though I do wish we had a bit more music at night.

There were zones in XI that had no music like Crawler's nest but the zones that had music had it throughout the entire zone. FFXI does have some of my favorite music though. When I'm in places like Coerthas only around dragonhead has music. When you get far from that it's just dead silence. I have mount music turned off so I can hear the zones music. It just sucks when there is none imo.

I ran into that issue, the "loop" doesn't start inmediatly. In any case, there's something that annoys me a lot: Music in dungeons is constanly interrupted by battle music, which is repetitive. I would like to "turn off" the battle music to hear the dungeon music.

Couldn't agree more. If they made longer tracks and just had them loop
I'd be more than happy. No music really detracts from a zone.
