    lobby server status

    Hello all,
longtime ffxi player (still play), decided to buy ff 14 today, June 24. As such I already have a valid square enix ID, added 14 registration service, as well as the option
1 character +basic service through click and buy, everything went smooth as far as I can tell, got confirmation emails and such. All was done around 10am, (4pm now) including installation and update. When I try to start ff14, it won't let me log in, it pops up with a maintenance try again at later time. I looked online, and I don't see a maintenance scheduled, or an emergency one. Wondering if there is a problem with lobby server? As far as I can tell all the servers are up.

I am also having the same issue I have not logged into ff XIV since the natural disaster a few months ago and thought it might have been my AV or firewall, i checked those they all listed it as a trusted / allowed app, checked and updated my DNS since I had a dead one in my list. shut down and restarted before and after a reinstall of FF XIV and reinstall of subsequent updates. tried the DMZ, and tried (not in the DMZ) disabling my AV / firewall and other defensive service programs, to no avail. I do not use the built in windows firewall and am running Win 7 ultimate and did not have any issues prior to this.

    Just something to try.
Take a look at your security settings in Internet Explorer, and either set exceptions for FFXIV or try and lower your security setting.

I'm sorry to hear that Lee-Sona. I tried Loth's suggestion and it worked! More specifically I turned the cookie policy down from high to medium under privacy tab in IE. Maybe that might fix your problem too. Thanks so much!!!
