Walk into Ul'dah. Look at frame rate and GPU temp. Now add in crazy weather effects. Watch frame rate dip and GPU temp soar!
The answer doesn't affect me. I don't need them toggled off. The answer wasn't an answer to the right question. Which, yes, I don't like.
This has been going on in a few topics now. There are questions being asked in the OP and then the answers have very little to do with what was brought up. For instance, There will be new main content to rank up?. Although, the dev post was very nice and informative when it comes to future content in adjustments, it didn't actually answer the OP's question in what would be the main party focused progression content. If you want to make guildleve soloable, what are now our party focused progression options? Answer? Here are plans for the future that are general and have no time frame release attached to them. Thanks, that's great, but what specifically do you vision the main progression content to be? It's not a hard question.
You guys shouldn't exactly be hanged for language barrier issues. I appreciate you trying to get the information from the devs, but when they give you a answer that doesn't match up with the question you gave. It's probably good to re-phrase it and get the correct answer.

I don't think you understand the question.
The reason people want weather effects to be toggleable is simple: they put more stress on the system, and disabling them would decrease lag for some people, myself included.
Like Brucey said, even if weather is going to play a more important role, simply looking at the weather icon would be enough to tell me what's going on, even if I can't see it. That wouldn't affect the gameplay at all.
other words you have no idea how to make a toggle so you don't want to waste your time and money to fix it you just make events for it to make up for it this seem to be SE response for everythingSpoke with Yoshida about current lack of a weather effect toggle. Currently, there really isn’t any meaning to the weather that occurs randomly within the realm of Eorzea, however, in the future plan on making weather a much more meaningful event and as such do not plan on implementing a toggle.
Sorry right now we can't fix the issue with mobs SP so we going to add quest hubs so you can spam the same quest over and over and get sp. I don't want to solo i want to party and fight mobs.
I'm starting to lose hope with SE all there response are the same. I don't know about everyone else but did you hear the response about the sound in the game? where you want to just shut up the weather or something else but can't? or about the issue with alt-tab? then again 1 person fix the issue in few week of beta release?
If you don't know how to do it yourself hire a 3 party company to come and help you out... i don't want to wait 5years for a fix that it's to late. In ffxi there so many issue now being fix why could you not make all the AH link from day 1 of the game? oh now you want to link them?
how about ffxiv wards? can't you just link them all?
"Sorry i just need too b**** a little seeing how everyone else"

The city have lag as it is i don't think adding rain in the city going to help us much. Do you remember the snow? i sure did and even people with good pc had lag. But i do agree maybe once this game is fix and the core system is fix they could add this i do like to see it rain within the city.

Thank you for getting a response to my thread, though the response is kind of underwhelming. I like the fact that more things in-game will be tied to elements and weather, but this puts a lot of stress on my PC. I know XI had a lot of things tied into weather, and it had a toggle. I just figured it would be an easy fix for a lot of people to see improved performance on lower-end (hell, mid-grade) PCs, myself included.Spoke with Yoshida about current lack of a weather effect toggle. Currently, there really isn’t any meaning to the weather that occurs randomly within the realm of Eorzea, however, in the future plan on making weather a much more meaningful event and as such do not plan on implementing a toggle.
(btw, this is the only modern game my PC has any trouble playing at all. This includes Bioshock 2, Crysis 2, The Witcher 2, etc)
Bayohne how about adressing the real problem, will you be fixing the rain falling through the canopy of the tents in encampments when out in the wild?
It's not a very good answer. It's ignoring the original reason for the request.^^^ Winner.I don't think you understand the question.

I don't think they took it as "we want a way to turn weather on and off server-side"
But i think they forgot there's a simple indication that can tell you the current weather about as effectively as seeing the actual effects.
That or there is some kind of actual element they're developing we just don't know of, that we'll need the actual weather for. *shrug*
I think what he means by weather will have major impressions in the future is...
Sandstorm is occuring in Thanalan, and there is a large scale besiege-like event happens with empire/beastman tribes marching to the city and they are using the weather to cover their movements. Such so that you can not see them in the feild/their number's in a distance and the movement patterns they are using to come to the city and you have to run around "blind" to find them. I could be wrong, definately speculating. I think that is what they mean by weather will be very important in the future. If you could just turn off the weather you would see people going, "Oh I turned off the weather effects and they are flanking us from the west!!! Everyone go west, we need to stop them before they reach the city!!!"
Now if my instance is the case.... I don't see why "normal weather effects" cant be turned off, and when an event like this goes on it over rides the toggle for the time of the event... but I would like my idea for what he meant, could you imagine a siege is about to happen you are running through Thanalan in the sand storm and a Cerberus like monster rears it's head out of the sand storm at you and attacks but you couldn't see it 50 steps before but at that point it has aggroed you and you have to run away, or die a warrior's death!
EDIT: also Zenaku.... recently your posts have started giving me migrane's like you post full of rage mindset and not actually think about what you are posting.... just a bunch of non thought out hate.... not saying some is not needed with the things going on... but you just have become super bitter before things have been resolved....
