    The War of Playstyles

    Opinion 1:
I don't have much time to play each day. Everything should be as streamlined as possible and require little to no planned or sought cooperation with other players. We want a set-it-and-forget-it button and simplified gear progression.

    Opinion 2:
As this is a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG, we should have a shared interest in working together. Crafting and gathering classes should be just as important as battle classes. All gear found in dungeons should be old and moldy given their origin and require repair. Given enough hard work with materia melding, melded gear at some point should be more powerful than dungeon gear. Why are NPCs able to produce from thin air gear that's leagues better than anything I can?

    Opinion 3:
You both should just shut up and play.

The more choices an rpg gives you, the more it resembles a true rpg ( because frankly if we all have played classic rpgs, we know that the choices are what makes it fun). The players will always want rewards for the work that they put, and frankly when it comes to crafting there is no lasting reward at all, no point and no reason except for making gil, which in turn just gives SE an excuse to create ultra expensive cash sinks that are only slightly entertaining and overall unpractical for the other side of the game.
The combat could be further improved by giving people options trough crafting, we need more options bought with gil that can be practical for combat or gathering.

Mix of the 3. But I'd say this for #1 vs #2.

    - low drop rate on equal to crafted gear variants of weapons(but adjusted RNG so only gear for those jobs in the instance drops)
    - mid drop rate of mats needed for crafted gear variants of weapons(unadjusted RNG - any mats for any weapon can drop on that level)
    - high drop rate of gil and random mats(so that you can purchase a crafted weapon if you don't want to do 1 or 2)

That way you get to enjoy your grind if you don't want a crafted weapon and crafters can actually make a crafted weapon for you to use if you want to burn the gil for it. This I think would make mostly everyone happy and a few people ragey(because they still can't get what they want from grinding a dungeon fast).

I guess this game kinda proves that you can't have a game catered for both camps.

Nr 1 should be capped at the 3rd best gear and number 2 should get everything

    This way everyone get something

If we have luck, the reward for leveling up a crafting class is access to the vanity system.

I want to enjoy fighting mobs for hours and hours when chatting with nice people, then enter a super hard dungeon that is fun to challenge with friends and simply beating it is its own reward. Any drops it may give me is just icing on the cake!

The game does it's best to answer all questions and be the game for everyone. What it lacks is sense and somewhere along the line of being remodeled it lost it's direction. That or we don't have the whole picture yet. There should always be something to strive for and there should always be things for even the most casual player to do. So far the game does that. I honestly don't have much to complain about.
