i remember the Beta prank from last year when people could log in with characters from other players.

that would be funny again.

ANYWAY, I remember Yoshi's April Fool's Day prank last year where the development team had a laugh at the community's expense over the constant whining for new races (or rather, recycled FFXII races), and posted mock-up pics of the supposed new race for the game, 'bangarra'. It was funny just how many people took it seriously.

That's what is was called! Thank you! I wracked my brain for ages trying to remember exactly what the name they used for it was and I just settled on 'bangarra'. I still remember the stir that one pic caused though - I bet Yoshi and the team are still chuckling about it.

My dream FF14 April Fools event would be to change everyone's race for the day to specific ones.

Everyone logs on only to find their character in an inn, naked with nothing in their inventory(and proceed to have a minor heart attack). There are broken, conspicuous looking, potions on the floor all around them. If you look closely enough, the liquid from the potions spell out "April fools". As soon as you leave the inn you get all your gear back from a character who says he found them on top of the roof.
