If I understood you correctly, you tried wired and had no problems?
But you have problems when running wireless?

If that's the case, try disabling bluetooth first. If that doesn't help, try setting the wireless to 802.11g mode instead of n mode.
If that still doesn't work, switch back to n, but make sure you are running at 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz, or change channel which is used for 2.4GHz on your netgear.

Wireless cards in laptops have a tendency to be quite bad unfortunately. Just be lucky you don't have Intel wireless on the laptop, or you'd have even bigger problems.
