But you're Ausie so at least you have unencumbered access to any womans vagina due to your awesome accent!Unfortunately for us, Squeenix have it on record that while they understand the payment setup is somewhat long and complicated, players only have to do it once, so they do not believe it will be a hindrance in the long run. you know, given that people have just gone out of their way to buy the game they're not about to not play it, yeah?
That's when they get you! New players will blindly trust it, because they won't necessarily know any better and hey, they want to play the game. Square Enix trust in this behavior for people to get over the payment setup hurdle.
What I think they don't fully understand is that it doesn't take many billing frustrations for people to decide to stop playing. Squeenix will not see the impact of subscription continuation until a few months after we go pay2play. So worrying about this is so obviously not a real priority right now. Surely it'll work out all right...
I think "wait till it's too late" summed it up quite nicely. >_<
Meanwhile, here I am in Australia where we have been labeled a European region (thanks to the whole PAL vs NTSC thing) and thus I will be forced to pay in Euro. Corollary: We will be paying more than almost any other region, as the Euro conversion (75 Euro cents to the $1AU*) is no where near the US conversion ($1.05US to $1AU <- smexy), plus international transaction & foreign currency fees from my bank (outside EU agreements financially), plus unknown Click&Buy fees for Credit cards, plus possible Click&Buy unsupported currency conversion fees.
I think that's it, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is something else in there... It'll add up to making me pay at least 1.5 times what the US players will pay, probably more. >_>
QFT! Never been a WoW fan but their payment system is one of the best in the industry. SE still has a lot to learn about international business. Making it a pain in the ass to set up payments (or trying to provide a service to a country/region that you can't even process payments for) is not a good way to make money..They wont this is the payment they going to use and guess what SE going to get it hard when the game goes P2P. I hope SE does fix this issue i wish they had the same payment as wow.
When i try out wow for 2month with my gf i stop playing and did not want to play the 3rd month but went to sleep late and forgot to cancel the payment on wow. My gf called wow and they give us back the 30$ within 1 day for her account and 3days for my account but that due to my bank taking forever to get payments.
I would be better of with playonline system then this bullshit.
I'd like to think I don't need to point out HURR DURR but apparently you need to with SE.
maybe my bank does wear thin foil hat cause they adviced me against using Clickandbuy. They have/deal with/fix too many issues with this online payment company, and I'm in Europe lol.
Yeah I have had many people tell me not to use C&B due to it being so shady and all the issues it's had before. Very rare I heard anything good about C&B... actually I don't think I really have except from a hand full of people.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
I've actually never heard of C&B before FFXIV...
28 days till account closure!
Still nothing huh... Bah.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Gees. Am I going to have to write another formal letter to SE corporate at this rate?
They answered my last one, so it might work...
