    Teratotaur doom mechanic

    the fight in the temple of the quarn dungeon against teratotaur for stepping on the tiles to get rid of it can be completely avoided by ranged by standing on a pillar in the room. the whole room is engulfed by the doom circle but when on the pillar you avoid it completely. if this fight mechanic can be avoided then the fight itself is not being done correctly and is worthless to be even added in the fight. it ruins the fun of the fight for some people that like to play the game the correct way. it was the same for the fight for amdapor keep when the healer would stand in the tree and take away a whole mechanic.

    is this mechanic standing on the pillar for ranged to avoid it completely working as intended or is it a actual bug that started with the new jump option in the game.

    Just abusing line of sight mechanics. You can do something similar to avoid Haukke Hard's final boss's room-wide Seduction AoE.

    I ran it the other day on my BRD. The healer went up there, and told me to join them. I said "No thanks. I'm good.", and went about my business as usual. I prefer to do things the way they were intended, so that is what I do. Others might like to take the easy way out, and that is their choice. I'd prefer they "fix" it, but if they don't, then it is working as intended. Also, I guess it's not so bad to not have to deal with multiple wipes because people can't seem to be able to make it to the pad to remove doom. I've run with a group that the dps kept dying to doom (I was the tank), which then caused wipes. Over and over we wiped. Both dps were ranged, but we didn't know about this "strategy" at the time. If I would have known about it at the time, I would have actually requested them to do it.

    I did not know that. It seems like there have been a lot of fights like that. It seems like an oversight. Oh well. I'll continue doing things the way they were intended. I prefer to deal with mechanics, rather than avoid them. I think ignoring mechanics makes things more boring. To each his own.

    it is just another form of lazy to me. it is not the proper way they programmed it to be played as. which takes the fun away from other people when they go do it.

    It is an oversight and SE's corrected each of them they have been able to find/has been reported to them. It just takes time. Report it and hopefully it'll get fixed.

    oh i reported it. they just flagged it off. though it was not in the proper set up. maybe that is why.

    It's not really "cheating" any more than LoS'ing the big golem with pillars in AK first boss, Imminent Catastrophe on last boss, Garuda's Mistral Shriek/Song, among others. There's a reason primals/coil battlefields are flat and featureless.

    It is purely line of sight and positioning.
    I go up there to do my raises during that fight, so the peeps are safe for a few seconds whilst I get them back up to speed.

    It's not totally broken, because if the tank dies, and Terasaur comes up to you in that area (pillar or not) you get doom.

    So, I guess no worse than avoiding an aoe...standing somewhere it doesn't hit you. That's all.

    If you were immune to it up there, then that's different...but it's kinda a safe zone. Like I say...I jog up to that area to do my raises (if needed)

    I don't think it's cheating, it's much more like an alternative strategy to overcome the doom spells, you still need to work out to win.
    Also, I think it's merely utilizing (not in) line of sight mechanism, and not "abusing".
    Just my two cents.
