As the NPC's head out to battle they would each take a slice of cake and it would slowly deplete over time. This would mean the Culinarians could get busy on their next big Project and hopefully have it completed before the Cake runs out.

    The same thinking could be applied to all DoH and DoL classes working on a Group Project to help the NPC side of the Company. It could be Miners digging an excavation site or Carpenters building Ships and so on.
    That's an awesome idea. During a long, drawn out battle, healers are the main support but culinarians would be enhanced support, offering bonuses depending on whatever they are whipping up. All the while, needed to be protected from anyone trying to attack them.

    Likewise, during a ship battle, groups of carpenters could be constantly repairing the damage done. Adds a new dynamic to company battles.

    I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what's going to come out of companies. I'd really like some community-wide goals and competition between the 3 companies. We know now that they're going to form the backbone of content to come, so I'm fully expecting some campaign-style content, hopefully without the blatant system limitations brought by PS2 involvement.

    It would be really cool if you could earn rep with your company and get armour and items in their colour/theme. I want to be a proud immortal

    Edit: I also hope they continue each country's story via the companies. After hitting rank 15 you have the option of going to Ul'dah to meet others with the echo, or continuing to help out your home country by visiting your company's leader. Being issued new story quests by a bartender was a decent enough starting point but I'd say the move to company politics would help show progression.

    I was thinking they should definitely include a new monetary system within the Company system like Company Credits or something. Things have a got a bit out of hand with Gil so this would allow them to have everyone have a fresh start in the Company system and give them a chance to keep things balanced this time.

    You could use Company Credits to buy exclusive Company equipment, temporary items for use in Campaign battles, gathering and crafting, Upgrades and furnishing for your Company House/HQ and so on.

    I also like the idea of being able to come up with your own Private Company flag/badge of sorts and be able to brand it onto your armour/gear, I think that could be pretty cool.

    The ability to buy and sell as a company? NM drops, etc. Ability to readily check company funds. Access to funds, to those who started the LS or decide others are able to hand responsibly. However, monitoring would allow for no funny stuff. Personal and Company should be seperate, especially in public company. Donation to Company? NO! Only what the company earns through process of raid, NM's, leves, etc. The whole team aspect of company, want individual success, solo 101.

    Ideas that Id like are mostly mentioned. Definetly a few forms of travel. Stables, for breeding? Gardening would be fun, maybe a wider variety with avatars of plants and such. I wonder though how much room would a common area, for such an array of purposes actually take though. I wonder about the order in which all of these would be patched in, more so.

    Hmm I like the idea of Private Company funds and I agree they should be separate from personal funds and never the two shall meet. Maybe they could make it so your Private Company has it's own Bank of Company Credits that players can not pay into, they only way Credits can be earned is through completing missions and objectives and they are paid straight into the COmpany Account.

    The Leader and other responsible persons nominated will be able to use these funds for upgrades to the Company only so like buying a bigger building, extravagant decor, actually buying Airships, Boats, a Garden and Chocobo Stables. When your Company starts you would start with a basic dwelling and from there use your Company Credits to expand by adding new features to the house like the Garden and so on to really build it into something special.

    What do y'all thing should be the requirements for making a Private Company? Should those requirements be difficult/complex? Should they have to be constantly maintained (similar to your awards/rank in FFXI Wings of the Goddess)?

    The problem that I foresee is the possibility of lots of dead private companies accumulating over time. Just like there are lots of dead linkshells accumulating now. All the stuff that we are asking for ... boats, buildings, airships, gardens ... will use up server resources.

    Should there be an in-game mechanism that removes these things if they are not being maintained?

    Or should the requirements for making a Private Company be so exhaustive that it would take at least 50 players over a month to accomplish, and thus make it statistically unlikely that such a company would fall into disrepair and be abandoned?

    Good question not sure how to approach this one really but there should be some requirements of some sort for making a Private Company I suppose.

    Although I am a generally optimistic guy, I just have little faith companies are going to be some big complex thing. Probably going to be like campaign in which you get exp, fame, and some kind of guild marks to purchase exclusive gears. Hope I am wrong and they include 1/10th of the ideas suggest in here.
