Thread: Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0 Reboot

As I'm sure many people are aware FF XIV ARR is more or less reboot of FF XIV 1.0. Something that would be cool to see happen, in my opinion, is a optional quest sequence where the player is somehow exposed to or goes through the 1.0 content with the ARR engine (we have magic I'm sure we can figure something out some way to do this reasonably). I joined the game a few months after the launch of ARR, and noted that it was a reboot. taking to the internet for what happened to 1.0 I found that the execution had been somewhat fumbled but that the story line was absolutely fantastic. I myself would like to experience it with the new engine what do other people think?

Add on: If you like the idea please share this link with your friends and have them post their thoughts and ideas. hopefully we may get SE to consider the idea (or at least respond to it )

Would be an interesting option for leveling other jobs, but I doubt we'd see that. The additional data required would be pretty large, but I guess it's one to consider for the future.

This would be kinda cool. It could be like FFXI where you can travel to the past using the Maws. May be have it drop you during the meteor battle.

i wouldnt mind a trip back to the past to expirience the original game. how they go about it i dont care. i would just like to see it

There's just one problem, while it is technically a reboot... it's not been re-released, it's been entirely rewritten.

We had one massive world before all this that looked nothing like what we now have. Personally, i loved the huge open world of 1.0 more, but then still, there simply is no way they can bring it back. It's a completely diffirent thing. The PS3 simply cannot handle such large seemless areas.

I would LOVE, absolutely LOVE to have the world from 1.0 back opposed to the utter tiny pieces of linear garbage that this new map is. But it's not possible :/

What if, instead of you playing as yourself in the past (like XI), you play as someone else that you create, similarly to how you created your character or retainer, and influencing the past and their story with your Echo powers and reaping the rewards (items, classes/jobs, skills, etc).

I'd rather them keep developing new content. Revisiting old stuff just shows a lack of creativity. (even the various Primal difficulties border on this)

Same here, I really miss the open world of 1.0

But I have to admit, I do not miss the open world labyrinth of Gridania @_@
