FYI, square has one of the most recognizable names yes, but they are not rich like you seem to think. Square has money, but not the money you think they have. Just because they have their names on a whole bunch of games, doesn't mean they're "rollin in the cash". The current state of Capcom, Who WAS a larger company then square is, but is currently on the verge of going belly up and out of business is proof that just because you have your name on lots of stuff, doesn't mean your doing well.

Lmfao plz don't go there and i mean plz or maybe you never played PSU? well sega ran that game into the ground not only was psu a very small mmo but it had ps2 graphics and yet saga still had all sorts of problems with updates lag and events ect yet players were paying them 10$ a month there web site was useless there so called help was useless and GM's were just there for show. They had countless roll backs yes roll backs PSO2 is nice looking fun but that's about it it's still very small and not a real mmo by any means it's like a nice looking monster hunter and on top of that there's a big reason why it's only for Japan why? saga dose not have the cash to bring it outside of JP they had to make it FTP just to get ppl to play it so yes paying 500 or so yen for a nice dress or my own room that's a good game? pfff

Too bad on PSO2, you'll only end up using about 2-3 skills in endgame, also PSO2 has PAY to WIN along with "premium" which is pretty much a monthly fee if you want to trade, use the AH, trade in 10 star weapons.

As far as customizing goes, as I said, you'll be expected to only branch into one tree, otherwise you'll pretty much be awful and if you want to reset your build you have to pay, everytime you want a new build, or buy another skill tree which also cost money... I feel FFXIV does lack in the customization, but I much rather use theirs instead of the PSO2 cash grab one.
