Why 14,99 $?

Sir you didn't really understand what i wrote and that is ok. I am not talking about quality of the game, was talking about someone wishing X was a cheaper price. I know you know and most people know things cost what they cost. But FFS are u regulating wishes too?

If he said "I wish the game was cheaper" sure. But OP is suggesting that the current price is archaic and needs to change to keep up with the times.

And on that point OP I'd like to mention that minimum wage has gone up over the years as well as education rates. So if anything by this logic prices should go UP not down.

If the coffee started tasting sh**ty then yeah it would be bad. A cheaper sub would mean less content expansion. Easy concept, you get what you pay for.

Most people don't walk into gas stations and ask them why isn't gas $1/gal? They know the answer.

I get your point, but the gas thing kind of irked me. The quality of the gas is not why gas is $3.50 a gallon right now. Really bad example. You should have stopped with the coffee allusion.

The gas comment was kind of a different point, probably shouldn't have bunched them together. Supply/demand/cost of goods/services effect price with everything.

I get plenty of entertainment for my $13, don't see the complaints. I would gladly pay 20 if it meant more content coming faster.

Why doesn't this or any other P2P game apply a lower fee? It's there some market rule out there of which I have not been informed who forces them to have exactly that price?

Contrary to seemingly popular belief the MMO world didn't begin with WoW... It was more of the Apocalypse.

But using your "MMOs have changed since then"
MMOS were originally under 10 don't remember exact prices... games have come a long way. There is a lot more data. Better servers, more internet speed needed, etc.



As Rekujen said. If $15 is too much you have other problems. That is 50 cents a day. If you average an hour a day you are getting the cheapest entertainment out there besides playing kick the can

If Yoshi went back on his word and this game went free-to-play or pay-to-win I would drop my
subscription that day. As would many others I play with. Both of those models are terrible.

I would not back out of it, if it would become free to play.

What I would dislike at an f2p ARR. The possibilties of it evolving will be slim to zero. I don't exactly know what happened to Aion. I don't know how it is faring atm. But if I would have bought that game, been a payiong customer, and than the (for me) sudden change. I would have been annoyed.
Why I would not back out? Because I love the world and the loving detail of everything.

You know, it is easy to say "If you can't afford 15 a month, you have other problems" lets put it nicer "If 15 are to much for you per month for a game, you should maybe get your priorities straight"
For me, I quit smoking, buy cheaper but not cheap food, so I can sustain the hobbies I like and quit hobbies I cant currently afford (bye bye 2/3 FFXI accounts)

Did you look into what games have the Square Enix Brand? None of them has bad selling nummers.

And you cant compare a MMO to an Egoshooter.
You can run a dedicated server on almost any machine for Egoshooters. Can you run an MMO server on your 4 year old laptop? no you can't.
For an MMO that has like 30k players in storrage. You need something big. Serverfarms.
For most of the curretnly obtainable Egoshooters the servers don't need that much power. because they dont have to calculate a huge world with several connection points and different mob behaviour and what not.
They are a map, no matter how large. With lots of static objects. some moveable objects that react to surroundings.

You obviously know jack crap about computers. You cannot run a dedicated server for any current, or 5 year old shooter on anything. The fact that you made that comment proves you have no clue what you're talking about. Please stop believing all the horse crap you read on PC gaming forums, and actually go out and buy some books, or go to school.

FYI, square has one of the most recognizable names yes, but they are not rich like you seem to think. Square has money, but not the money you think they have. Just because they have their names on a whole bunch of games, doesn't mean they're "rollin in the cash". The current state of Capcom, Who WAS a larger company then square is, but is currently on the verge of going belly up and out of business is proof that just because you have your name on lots of stuff, doesn't mean your doing well.
