    People need to speak up more for Alchemist buff.

    People have spoken up for buffs/fixes on many things, SE implemented many of them but Alchemy is one thing that's still being very overlooked. This crafting class is pretty much worthless compared to culinarian. I'm not even talking about money making. It's the absolute horrendous cooldown on pots - somewhere from 4 to 5 minutes. That makes people only carry food to raids, not pots when they were both (top tier crafts) intended to be used in raids. In my opinion, the cooldown timer should be 60 secs.

    If that's too much of a buff, perhaps they can go for different timers. 120 secs for 1/2 star crafts and 60 secs for stuff like HQ mega potions - which are still quite useful. It's only the timer that has become a barrier. They could also increase duration on some stuff because 10-15 seconds are not enough for casters to land a few attacks. I hope this buff arrives with patch 2.2 because it has been long overdue.

    Yeah quite useless apart from some Potions, to craft Books or wands, but thats about it.

    Agreed. Crafting needs work overall, but Alchemy and Culinarian especially, considering their intended use.

    the potion is act as buff like blood or blood, raging strike and those similar so I am fine with the duration but the CD is a bit to extreme. Imo the CD should be equal with the skill have similar effect 90 sec to 180 sec.

    I am ALC and trust me when I say I make 0 gil from the potion (stats, hp,mp) my only income atm is selling mats make by ALC

    I dunno about you, but I absolutely adore strength pots.

    I agree that alchemy needs help in the money making department, but I'm more interested in leveling it for providing potions for myself.

    What?! What more can you ask for Culinarians?

    Though I agree with ALC, it's just absurd to share the cooldowns of each potions. But IIRC, Yoshi-P already made an statement about this before. I just can't recall where.

    Cooking has a lot of bloat, both in terms of how many foods there are that are never used and in how many ingredients it takes just to prepare a single dish. For example, a lot of the high-level recipes aren't used because of their ingredients and their (currently) unreachable stat caps. Culinarian is great, but it could use some tweaking to make it more user friendly and to better encourage the use of a wider variety of foods.

    Every crafted item should require 6 materials, but I agree about the 2 star food

    I totally support this message. I haven't used a potion in a very long time, and much of that reason stems from what the OP said. The CD's are ridiculous, and there is no reason that all potions should share the same CD. Second Wind does better (or at least equal to the high end pots) and only has a 120sec CD when cross-classed (I think). And also the same with BfB to Str/Dex pots, BfB is only an 80sec CD. Drop the CDs on potions!!!


    Oh yeah, I guess I use Cordials every now and then... :\

    Putting all potions on a common cooldown is beyond stupid. That said, the cooldowns on most potions would be fine, if their cooldowns did not affect other potions. A stat potion may provide only a short-duration buff, but the buff is strong enough that it could be considered as useful as a job-ability buff, like Fight or Flight.

    The fact that you can arrive at, say, a Titan fight, and have an inventory with Health Potions, Earth Resist Potions, and Strength Potions, all of which could be useful on Titan, and are forced to choose just one is really silly. Simply removing the universal cooldown would breathe new life into Alchemist.

    Making items usable through user macros would help as well, so you could combine potion use into other macros (e.g., a macro that uses Fight or Flight, or if Fight or Flight is on cooldown makes you use a Strength Potion instead).
