The drill bit turns in retrograde to a downward drilling operation.
Is this simply a mistake? or is this some kind of subtle clue to a subterranean civilization that is drilling upward in preparation for an invasion of southern Thanalan?

Shh....
Crab people...
Crab people...
Crab people...
Crab people...!
but seriously... is this intended or a bug? it has been bothering me for a long time.
Are you sure it's not just an illusion of movement, a la, a 'wagon-wheel effect'?
It's possibly just an artist oversight though - there are actually several small errors in background object placement throughout the game (such as the infamous 'floating bottle' on the ground in Pearl Lane in Ul'dah, and the book buried in the mantlepiece in the tavern at the Observatorium in Coerthas), so it's probably not intentional, but just a minor mistake that wasn't picked up in time.
I remember back in Beta I saw a waterwheel spinning against the flow of the river. Got a laugh out of it, but it's nothing important so wasn't worth worrying about.
I wish I could remember where I saw this though (maybe Gridania), I want to check it out to see if it's fixed meow xD
Still like a song or movie that you can't remember but trying hard to, its nothing major but still bothering you.
