What is the Larger moons name?

I know the lesser moon, is named Dalamud right? I guess perhaps I missed something during my story quest or side quests, but I haven't heard or read much, if anything about the bigger moon orbiting us. I'd really like to know more about the astrology of Eorzea if any actually exists

Well, there was a big thread on the old 1.0 forum that discussed amongst other things, this very idea, and the general consensus is that the Primary Moon's name is Menphina, due to being the name of the goddess of the moon, and the fact that Dalamud was always referred to as 'Menphina's loyal hound'. So all signs point to the primary moon's name being Menphina, although in most cases I think it's just now called 'the moon' as it's easier that way.

Did it you guys happen to figure out how it obtained its name? It makes one wonder if there's other astral bodies out there with the names of the 12. Reason I ask this is because it's really interesting that the moon was named after one of the twelve, but as far as I've noticed that's the only one. Is there others yet? or are our fellow Eorzeans unaware of other objects in space, other than the sun of course :P

Menphina is the goddess of the moon, so Menphina was named in her honor. Just like on Earth, our moon "Luna" is named after the Roman goddess of the moon =D

I'm liable to agree with Lucke and just say that the goddess was named after the actual moon and not the other way around.
