Option to remove battle theme in dungeons?

I enjoy a lot of the various dungeon themes in this game, but I only get to hear them at the start. After that the battle theme kicks in for the rest of the instance.

I think it would be nice to have an option to permanently have the dungeon theme on and keep battle music off. This could even extend to the regular world/zones as well.

It would be nice, but I am pretty sure they only give the option to turn all music off, maybe a future development if you put it in as a suggestion!

Problem is (and I'm pretty sure you're referring to stuff like the music that plays when entering Pharos Sirius) is that the specific dungeon themes are only like 90 seconds long and do not loop well. They have a very definite 'beginning' and 'end' to the music and if they just disabled the existing battle music and looped the dungeon themes it'd get annoying really quickly. So unless they go and rearrange/rerecord those pieces to make them longer, they can't really do this for the current dungeon themes.

Hopefully for future dungeons they'll do what they did with Coil and the hard-mode 4-mans where they have two arrangements of the same looping dungeon theme, a normal one and a more aggressive battle one, and the game seamlessly swaps between them when you enter/exit combat. It's a pretty cool effect.

I guess they'd have to figure out how to loop the music properly, or they could just have a couple seconds pause before starting it again. Personally I'd rather listen to each dungeon's theme even if they aren't that long, rather than the same theme in every dungeon. I don't think the battle theme is that much longer either

I turned the music off on my game, even though I really do enjoy the music. I'm a big music lover, and I love the music from a lot of the dungeons, I love the music you hear just running around, but I hate having it interrupted every time an enemy looks at me and replaced with the battle music which, since a lot of fights are over as quickly as they start, only lasts a brief time before the background music starts again. Sad to say that Ninix is right about most of the themes being short fanfares, but he's also right about the hm dungeons and coil music as well. If only SE would do the same for every other dungeon/open area but that would be an expensive endeavor and thus is not likely to happen anytime soon.
