Not being able to remove the poison sucks as a SCH, but there shouldn't be any real troubles keeping the tank alive unless they keep eating the dodgable breath attack, which is 900 some damage to them.

I would say start with a search here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...9-Healer-Roles

Poison hurts; the tank should be doing their utmost to dodge it's breath. That's about it.

Survival in this game is a joint operation.
On that boss specificly dps must be quick to avoid poison and tank Must dodge the breath attack as it can easily shave of 80% hp.
If everyone does their part this fight is not so hard to heal through.

Antidotes work on the poison now and doesnt hurt for tank to carry some on them for those moments. But yeah if the tank keeps getting hit by breath that will stress out any healer unless there is a BRD there for Ballad to help.

On SCH or WHM? Because they are very different strategies. On WHM you need to use Esuna on anyone who is poisoned to save MP, and make healing much easier. On SCH it's much much harder because you don't have anything to remove poison, you need to make sure your parties know what they are doing, and make very good use of aetherflow to restore MP, Eos is also a valuable asset, if she dies swiftcast summon her asap (if you have leveled THM).

I assume you're talking about Aiatar, the final boss. Aiatar spits a large puddle of venom that will poison anybody who steps into it. The circle is targeted on a party member, so they'll get 1-2 stacks of poison as well, depending on how quickly they react. The best thing that you can personally do is use Esuna as quickly as possible, even if it's not the tank. That damage will add up over time and make it significantly harder to focus on the tank. Other than that, remember to focus on using Cure, not Cure 2. Cure is more MP efficient and will allow you to get out more healing over the course of the fight without running dry.

That being said, a lot of the fight also depends on your party. If the tank dodges the breath and moves Aiatar out of the puddles quickly (they heal Aiatar if he stands in them), the fight becomes much shorter and easier to manage. Your tank will always get 1 stack of poison from Aiatar's snap attack, but outside that shouldn't get any other stacks.

Additionally, if you ever have questions like this that are healer specific, you're probably better off asking in the Healer Roles section.

As a healer, we often tend to feel like it's our fault if the group fails. This is not always the case. If you were able to heal through it your first run through, and not your second, I feel pretty confident in laying the blame at the dps and/or tank's feet, so don't take it so hard. Everyone must do their part on that boss. If a dps isn't staying out of the poison, stop healing them. If the tank isn't avoiding the dragon's breath and dies, tell him he needs to avoid it.
