Fair question. Doing content as a group certainly builds some measure of teamwork, but it doesn't allow for much interaction socially. The time-sink aspect actually serves a purpose, in that it gives people time to shoot the breeze and form social bonds. Turn 3 may be a boring piece of content difficulty-wise, but the groups I'm in often have the most interaction during Coil runs at this Turn. The only other time people get to have a little "joke-around" time is clearing the T1 trash between ADS and Caduceus. If you're doing a pug groups, sometimes you're missing both of these opportunities in a week.

How about they hide some monsters in the treasure chests, this way we can do them as a group in our own convenience... I hate doing fates to unlock stuff... There fun once in a while but standing around for 30 minutes waiting for a fate to pop so that I can unlock CT... Not so much...
There are two things to note here:
- If the FATE's pop every hour, it's still relatively at your convenience. For one thing, it's unlikely you'll wait the full hour every week. Frankly, they could put it on a semi-variable timer so that it's less predictable (as in, it pops every 45-60 minutes). It's not like the HNM XI content where it popped every 72 hours and you had to plan a good chunk of your week around being on during that window.
- The CT FATE's were soloable and you only had to do them once. Thus, they were relatively simple encounters. The kind of FATE's I'm suggesting are nothing like that. If they were, I wouldn't want them, either. The FATE system, though, is the perfect conduit for this kind of content because parties don't necessarily have to compete against each other to participate, and it's something that's already in the game.
