My understanding of PS4 Beta

1. We will have to start a new character
2. We will have our own server to test it
3. We can no longer play the ps3 version. (So no coil runs or ex runs.)
4. We will have our original characters within Phase 2 of the beta.
1. My questions are how long do we have to wait to Phase 2 for our original characters?
2. Why can't we play on ps3 and ps4? It's only a beta so I don't understand why this can't work.

1. The beta test is only scheduled to be 2-3 weeks in duration in general.. So I imagine you won't have to wait very long.
2. Works just like PS3 and PC do currently. You register a platform. Also I don't understand your numbering scheme.

SE just need to give us more real info other then those with PS4 will automatically have access to the beta
It is still really not known if you can still use your char on your PS3 while playing the beta on PS4
I for one would not want FC members wondering were i went

You have the option to upgrade, for free, from PS3 to PS4 access. If you do, you will no longer have PS3 access. You should be able to add a PS4 key to your account if you want access to both for some reason. None of that will change what content you have access to though, so I'm not sure where the "no coil runs or ex runs" comes from.

Once we transfer over from ps3 to Ps4 there is no turning back so no more ps3. So we can't do coil runs for however long till phase 2.

Very true but the beta phase i think we can still play on PS3 as it is not transfering over your char. at that moment.
Again SE need to provide us some info, the beta is approaching

From my understanding, since we're not using our live characters in beta, we'll still be able to access them on the PS3 until Phase 2 starts.

Yeah this is more than likely the case. You're more than likely going to have a different account or ID that you will be using for the Beta. So you'll be able to switch freely between your Beta character, and your normal character.

I would think your account on the subscription servers would still be active until live service for PS4 accounts start. I haven't seen anything saying that once you start PS4 beta testing you won't be able to play the PS3 version.
