How to delete character?

I just had my free trial period end for FFXIV. During that 30 day's my girlfriend and I both made characters to try out our respective classes. We both loved it and wanted to continue playing.

I subscribed with the option that gives you one character...is that standard subscription? Anyway, I go to delete her character so she can keep the same name and am unable. Not playing the character I completely get, but the option to delete is gone. She doesn't wanna play if she can't get the same name.

Is there a ticket I could submit, or do I have to pay more for a month just to get the option to delete?

To delete a character you have to right click on the name at character selection

I have this same issue. During the free trial period I had made an 2nd character of a different race just to get the feel for it and decide which one I wanted to play as my primary character. Now that my free trial is over and I just pay the basic one character per world sub, I still have two characters listed under my home server, but the one I don't use is blacked out and has a red X next to its name. You can't delete it because you can't select it. Usually you can just right click the character name and delete, but that's not possible. Just minor annoyance, but it is a flaw in the user interface for anyone who doesn't pay for multiple characters.

Yea, Pay for more than 1 Character per server, delete it, then change back to 1 Character per server.

or try calling SE support.
