I'd love to play but...

Having trouble finding a group to play with!
I don't really like to randomly just pick a server and start playing.
I want to know which server is best for new players or which server has a high population for me to get into starting a new character and making some friends while leveling to end-game content!
I'd rather try and find a new group to hang onto and play the game with than rushing in the game alone!
So, anyone know of some good ACTIVE and maybe even friendly groups recruiting new players?
I looked into the Reddit site for some recruitment posts but eh, I don't know about that. Any other sites to help me look for a group?

I'm really hoping to fit into a nice group of people that I can hang around with while playing the game, which will keep me motivated and going!

Oh and my timezone is GMT -5, USA on the east side.

Hi and welcome to Eorzea!
If you look on the Companies and Worlds sections of the forums you will find lots of free companies advertising. Like ours!
In the Worlds section you would have to look server by server. Malboro seems to have a lot of EST people and most of our fc is east coast.
We're friendly and happy to let you level at your own rate or help you level through dungeons and hunting logs.

Sounds like Leviathan would be a great server for you. It is always busy at all hours and full of friendly people.
We have both a linkshell (128 players atm) and the Free Company which is growing (20 members so far)
We are a friendly bunch who love helping each other out and do not pressure new players to level up to 50.

Hyperion is 1 of the top 3 Most populated servers. the only issue for you with being there and that is that. 90% of Hyperion is all endgame already and the other 10% are RMTs. So I can understand your inability to find a good free company or people to play with.

You should probably try to avoid Legacy worlds unless you already know someone there. While the ridiculous leveling speed in this game means all worlds have more endgame players than leveling players, that's even more true on legacy worlds. Non-legacy worlds generally have a better low and mid-level population, so it should be easier to find groups.
