I understand your situation completely. The OP seems to be questioning why to do it at all? I guess I took the question from a person's standpoint that they have the time, the fc, or know people to pug with, but are asking what is the point if you can get myth through roulette. My answer is that most people dont do coil for myth, its just a bonus.I'll give you my answer: due to my peculiar job timetable (back home always late in the evening), I cannot join most of my FC runs. I could join coil through Party finder, of course,.... But what would you do if you had very little or no experience, and in all Party finder groups you'd read: "Only experienced players , fail = kick"??

I get 200 myth in an hour run, then the rest come from getting my ct loot and em primals. I don't even try to hit myth cap and I usually hit it in a few days anyway. Why would I want to tolerate roulette again? Not doing coil sounds like misery to me. The amount of time I spend hitting cap is a fraction of what roulette grinders spend, so I don't buy the I don't have time argument.
Also coil has the only i95 gear in the game, people like to forget that.
Corrected that for you. If coil gear was raised to i95 like the weapons, then buying mythos gear would be meaningless. Not everyone can clear Turn 5 and do it on a consistent farm basis. So of course, the majority are going to resign to defeat and wait for for 2.2 echo buff. I rather prefer to do it without that gimmick.

Weapons are not gear? What a stupid, pointless nitpick.

I95 weapons should be enough
For some reason everyone seems ok stopping at relics
Its part of the story anyway, if you never do it you may as well be one of those crafters that never leaves gridania
I dont play any other games and stop for no reason at the final bosses, why start here..

Why not get multiple piece of i90 gear per week instead of just 1? I don't get into coil much, mostly because every static has to be on mondays when I can't get online. However, I would certainly like to do it more. I certainly wouldn't call getting i90 equipment just forSo...here's my thing. I can get ilvl90 gear from just running roulette and hitting my cap every week, so why bother with coil other than just for S and G's?
Now, depending upon your build you might want to mix and match certain pieces....but then you're only going after a certain turn repeatedly, not coil in its entirety.
As it stands right now I would much rather get into roulette each day for about 2 hours and then hit CT for my myth (and probably not die a whole bunch). So in essence, the only time i would go into coil is to go after something specific, maybe.
I guess it's for the people who care about clearing the game's currently most difficult content?
S&Gs

You may be able to get i90 just from capping Myth, but it won't be the best combination of gear you can have at your disposal in most cases. If you want to just be "good enough" then I guess it's fine, but if you want the best combination of gear you'll also have to do Ex Primals and Coil.
Bacon is in CT.
When my group finally got around to doing Coil (putting it off due to it being intimidating, laziness, etc.) I was surprised at how easy it was and regret not doing it sooner. It's really not that difficult until T4 and then it's just a matter of practice. And it's fun! I also like that I have the option of different looking gear because I hate how the BLM myth gear looks and refuse to buy that robe (still waiting for the allagan tunic to drop).

Coil is where you can logically gear all your characters with ilvl 90 gear as well as some of the best gear in the game period. Twintania comes down to your scholar and white mage making sure that the Mr lives through Death Sentence.
Sch main heals tank, watches eye for an eye to make sure it's up 100% of the time and keeps virus handy for when tank doesn't have a CD for DS. White mage heals group after fireballs then MT after, helps dps conflags and stoneskins tank for DS.
If you have a monk they maintain Dragon kick rebuff to reduce pretty much all her damage.
The fight is so easy once you understand the mechanics but it's not to be taken lightly. Requires the utmost attention of 8 people for 13 min which is where the real challenge is at.
