    Can't really tell from the drawing, but is the DRK using no mail to protect his arms?

    That said, I keep thinking this would also be appropriate for DRK.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    I expect we'll see a DRK reminiscent of FFIV and RDM will likely be very close to the initial FFXI designs

    I personally have always like the emphasis more on the knight rather than the spikey "bite and die!" armor.

    May be something more like this?

    Personally, I like Akihiko Yoshida's 'Dark Knight' designs for Bravely Default.


    (The FFIV Dark Knight designs that Junpai highlighted are a bit too close to DRG AF in this game. In fact, I remember thinking that DRG AF was actually DRK AF when the art was first previewed)


    The 'Red Mage' designs in Bravely are also good, but they're what I'd expect 'Dancer' to look like (especially since they are missing the iconic RDM chapeau):


    I guess I'd prefer the FFIII (DS) designs instead, as they are more traditional:

    Keep "Human" aspect in mind when creating those designs. They will still be "humans" not some horned beast with claws.
