Actually, yeah.
I do admit the subjects are getting a lil bit redundant and some times truly uninteresting but... It will always be thousand times more interesting than all this LGBT movement we seen lately.

Stop making mountains out of mole-hills, this is getting absolutley ridiculous now.

As a company Square Enix have an image to maintain, one wrong turn could spell disaster for the entire company.
Laws, beliefs and cultural nuances have to be considered as a whole and how it could benefit or detriment the game and the company itself as a whole.

For the sake of adding in one minor detail it could do more harm than good, as a company they've made the right decision completely regardless of whether we believe its "fair" or not.

It's an event idea. If you don't like the idea of the event, then don't bother reading the thread or posting about it with "no one cares if you're LGBTQ so shut up". Seriously, it's uncalled for.

Let people who would be interested in the event participate and talk about it. Everyone else has no business bashing on a simple event idea they can easily ignore, especially when nothing within the post was inflammatory or whatever it is people are up in arms about. Personally, this would be a cute in-game player organized event to do. I wouldn't take part in it just because I'm lazy, but it's a nice idea. Reminds me of the ahriman/chocobo/magitek trains you see sometimes in Mor Dhona.

If I had a "I want to set fire to a basket of toddlers event". YES people could walk past and ignore it. It's the message and the reasoning behind it being held in the first place that the problem occurs.

There's NO romance options at all currently, unless you're talking about the LOLZ Valentine's event....in which case that's been beaten to death for about oh, a week now....and needs to rest.

Also, as has been stated by others, including myself, is it SO far fetched to think that there's no gay marriage in Eorzea? Really? A fantasy world? So, by all of the logic I'm seeing here, there needs to be gay weddings in WoW, LOTRO, SWTOR, and every other big name MMO currently going on right now. I want to see the pitchforks going after George Lucas and Disney right NOW for Star Wars not hand holding LGBT relationships into their game then. It's cool if the creators want it in their worlds they create though, cause it's the creators saying "this is part of this world and fits into the lore and x, y, and z", not the community running around demanding they get their way.

The fight for "romance options" is a bit silly honestly. If I got married in game, does that mean my in game partner and I are now bound together? Will he be able to make calls for me medically and will we be able to file taxes together in game too? No. As was said the "fight for rights" is silly, and childish here....this is a VIDEO GAME. I really, really face palm at the fact people can't understand that.

Honest to god, and I know I'm not alone in this, I couldn't care less if there was NO romance options in the game ever, or even if there wasn't a straight romance option. I just wouldn't do it, cause whatever. But people are SO quick to flip out because there's "discrimination" going on, when in reality, it's just people accepting that this isn't real life....which I know, is hard for some to fathom doing. For a lot of people, their religion and political standing is also a HUGE part of their personal identity, does that mean that we need every religion, with worship times for each, and political wings so everyone can sit around and debate in Eorzea?

No, we don't, because most folks don't care if their video game hobby accurately reflects their real life identity....because you know, video games are supposed to be an escape, a hobby, a way to relax, not a continuation of your day to day life. >.> Not only that, but can you imagine the utter s-storm that would occur if SE decided to incorporate real life religions into the game, or real life politics? It's called controversy, and not the good kind like a GTA game.

Can we please stop with this LGBT ingame (or rather "in Forum") movement? It is getting ridiculous. Very few people truly care it the person behind the character in game likes this or that sexually, actually most of the people I met in game don't want to know ANYTHING about it so you don't need to go into details about god knows what.

Russia has mistreated LGBT the Olympics and nobody gave a damn about russia. Now everybody mentions it like it is the biggest issue around the world, I dare to bet my tail on Russias treating of LGBT people will be completely forgotten about 2 months after olympia.

Let's not forget the exterminators hired to slaughter countless alleged strays which are really the pets of families that were forced from their homes to make room for Putin's biggest crank yank to date.

Maybe I just don't read into things as much as half the forums seems to (and half of which I've seen seems to be pulling at straws), but it didn't come off as overly agenda-pushing.

And again, it's an OPTIONAL thing, run by players. People who dislike it and dislike the message of it can just ignore even having seen it. There's no reason to bash on it or any kind of intent it may have solely because you personally feel "that stuff should be left out of a game". Some people like to show their dedication to a cause inside or outside of a virtual world, I don't see what's so bad about that. People are getting up in arms about an optional player-run event, it's ridiculous.
