It sounds like the tanks were not used to doing this with melee dps. If they taunt at 180 degrees the ADS will turn and cleave the melee. Most of my experience in turn 2 is with passing rot. If the melee died in any group I ran with it was because of tank positioning. It makes no sense they'd place the OP against the wall. If they were positioning properly the melee should have plenty of room to avoid mechanics without risk of getting cleaved. OP they weren't going to clear it with you anyway until they acknowledged they were getting you killed.
