Just throwing this out here to see if there's enough people interested.
I believe that many players out there are getting close to their first T5 wins, but are running into issues such as time constraints or trouble getting a full group to attempt it frequently. I'm pretty sure many also have those nights when your group progresses quite a bit, but has to stop for that day and, the following day, just don't seem to get there again. Maybe if you could just put some more time in it......
...Well, i'm trying to solve this by proposing a Saturday Turn 5 marathon.
The idea is simple: Get in and put as many hours as humanly possible to try achieving the victory, with an experienced group. You can then apply this experience back to your group the follwing weeks. Of course, the more people of your group you call for this, the better it is for you guys. *wink*.
What I'm looking for is people that are interested and sure they're gonna be available to attempt this the next Saturday, and possible more weekends if needed, but hopefully that should not be needed. I know at least one person that actually got his win in a PUG group doing something similar, so...yeah. (He took 7 hours, by the way).
My personal experience is twister phase, with some minor final phase exp. I do not have a win yet. My group (which is a FC 'supergroup' of sorts, joining our statics) currently reaches twister phase almost every run. I'm calling some of them, but not sure if they're gonna be available, so I'm making up this thread.
With all that said, here are the requirements and rules:
Item level: 85+.
Must be experienced to early twisters at minimum. This means almost never being hit by divebombs, knowing how to deal with snakes, knowing how to survive Aetherial Profusion and knowing how to avoid twister / deal with dreads, even if you haven't perfected that part. Must have at least read on the final phase (hatch + liquid hell) and have a good idea what to expect, even if never actually reached it. The plan is to work up from that point, not to simply reach it.
Must be available and willing to put 4+hours on Feb 8 and, if needed, Feb 15. Please do not join unless you're sure that you can do it unless something unexpected happens.
Joining priority for first players to post in thread. If we get more than 8 players, the remaining will be called in case we need to replace a player, or something unexpected happens. If we get 16 players, feel free to make another party. Heh.
Please understand that if specific players hold down the group, specially pre twister phase, we might need to replace him/her. This basically means constantly screwing up conflag / fireballs, or being constantly killed by divebombs. And yes, this rule applies to me, as well.
No pointless bickering, arguing or similar stuff. Shit will happen, we will wipe to stupid crap more than once and we might even need to replace people. No need to be a jerk about that. If you're not ready to wipe a lot, do not join.
Planned start time: Feb 8, Somewhere around 2-3PM EST, maybe a bit later.
Planned end time: 10PM EST+
10-15 min breaks every few runs, of course. Possibly a 30 min break during the night if the group wants to eat.
If you are interested, please post your name, class, experience (be honest about this, please.), time availability and ILv. Someone with a voice chat server would be welcome, I'm not sure if my FC's is gonna be available for this, but I will ask them.
Planned group composition: 2 tanks (1PLD / 1WAR if possible), SCH, WHM, BLM/SMN,BLM/SMN, BRD, Melee. Will accomodate a different setup if needed based on the people who sign up, do not see this composition as something set in stone.
With that said, let's do this. If less than 8 players sign up, will PF the rest for replacements. If less than 4 players sign up, we're postponing the run to Feb 15. If no one signs up, I'll cry. Do not make a lalafel cry.
Group
SCH: Ashley Zeibel. I90, twisters exp. Available all Saturday.
