Error [2002] the lobby server connection has encountered an error

I live in the Dallas area and have FIOS too and was getting the 2002 error for hours. I found a workaround for the time being though. I installed a VPN client Spotflux and now I logged right in no problem. It should help until Verizon or Square gets this sorted out.

Are you not using the one-time password? If you aren't I've heard it'll get grumpy if you log in via an unusual IP (which would definitely be the case with a VPN).

Running into this problem as of an hour ago. Verizon is my provider, just like others that have posted tonight.

Alright I discovered something else. While I was in dungeon, I was also in Skype call. When I had it as my active tab, the Skype call was all choppy. I alt-tab out, and everything is clear again. Something is up with the client to be throttling ping.

After you change your password, it should let you in. Worked for me, anyway.

Yet another player on Verizon FIOS from Denton who cannot log on. I was getting the error this morning, went up to campus (UNT) and was able to log in and play for a bit from my computer in the lab in between doing work. Came home, finished my work, figured the bug must have been finally fixed and all, only to find out it is friggin Verizon's fault. YouTube has been acting up for me too, today, so maybe that's related to the same gateway being down.

I hate their service today, and naturally since I'm in an apartment, I don't have other options.

Does Charter not service your complex? It does with mine, and I'd like to know if anyone with that ISP is experiencing these problems. I had massive lag issues with FiOS after patch 2.1 launched and if this ISP is going to give me continued headaches, I may just up and switch despite getting a decent deal on fast speeds.
