Same behavior I was seeing while RDPing to my friend's machine. I'm in the Northeast and am logging in perfectly fine, unsure if it's a geographic issue with one of the login gateways but the affected user I was troubleshooting is in Texas.

I am also in Texas (Dallas) on Verizon FIOS.
I also live in Texas (Dallas) also a Verizon FIOS user. As well as some of my (local) RL friends , we are all unable to connect to Aether/Primal data centers/servers.
SE still no news, lol. I just went out to buy a better wireless adapter, just to ABSOLUTELY make sure it wasn't an issue on my end. That it most certainly is not. I did notice however, when I actually am able to get into game, while I'm playing, my ping will be terrible for the most part (receiving no signal if I scroll over their network icon).
Yet if I alt-tab out, then go back in, it's like my game catches up when it's not my active window. It's definitely giving me a headache though, I just want this crap fixed so I can play when I want, and play seamlessly.
Still cannot connect to Aether cluster -> Mateus server. Same 2002 error. I got an e-mail reply for my support ticket telling me that this was not an issue that a Game Master could help me with, and to submit a ticket to the correct area. I submitted it to "In-game" -> "Freezing". Wonderful customer service.

There must be some issue going on with the connection between Dallas Verizon Fios users and the NA datacenter. I'm also from Texas and have Verizon Fios and I've been facing the same problem.
I am having the same issue as well. I got a 90000 error early this morning and have not been able to log in since then. I get an empty character screen, then it gives me a 2002 lobby error message. I contacted Square Enix, and they said it was an issue with my ISP or router, or blocked ports. I re-opened the ports the SE rep told me to, then nothing. I reset my router. Nothing.
SE rep said that they were receiving multiple reports of issues with people in Texas using Verizon FIOS. Both apply to me. I'm in the DFW area.
I just spoke with Verizon customer service and they said they have received some reports of this issue and that they are working to fix it.
I asked if there was an ETA and was told, "not really, but we hope to fix it in 24-48 hours"
Tried calling myself for Verizon Dallas area, and they told me to contact the game company as the issue was going to be on their end. The fact that we got different stories doesn't bode well. I would encourage other Dallas area Verizon customers to call their tech support number as well -- the more people that call, the faster they will work to fix it!
