We need the ignore feature to ignore threads and posts based on concepts. Like, "ignore all bitching about FFXI" and "ignore all complaining about complaining" and "ignore all can't spell."

I like this feature but pretty useless if you have more than three classes ranked up. Why bother showing any? My sig is already obsolete for that reason but I've not bothered changing it yet because all the other character sigs I've seen are fugly.

Well, at least it'll be three classes you choose, instead of random. So, you can show your 3 faves.

Never really understood the need to want to ignore threads people make. Posts, yes, but just because someone upset you in one thread, doesn't mean they will do the same in another.
I wind alot of people up, mainly because I have some very conflicting views, which I am seldom afraid to state, and this tends to twist up some peoples knickers, causing them to launch into tyrades against me as if I am the second coming of the fallen one, which they don't realise that I really couldn't care less about.
Ignore posts - Yes
Ignore threads - Pointless - You might be missing out on all the fun!
Ignore Peregrine Falcon and Gifthorse (plus his 29 zombie accounts) - Should be added as default to all new accounts

I love the ignore function that you can put posters on, I've used it a few times.
I also like the idea of connecting the forum posters to their accounts for a few reasons.
If I am correct, and correct me if I am wrong, people don't have to play the game to post here they just have to create an account. With this you have to have a character connected to your forum account to post, and this will make it so only people who have active characters can post. Now I could be wrong about this, but I thought someone had said anyone can create an account and post here with or without having FFXIV.
Also it will be interesting to see who is who on the forums since not every uses their character name as their forum name, what type of classes they have and what server they are from.
I like it, will be fun after the update.![]()

Can't wait to see even more of "You don't even matter as you don't even have XXXX class at R50", and you see this a tonne on the crafting forums whenever someone dares to mention the RNG of the crafting minigame.I love the ignore function that you can put posters on, I've used it a few times.

I don't care if people have a 50, I know I don't have a 50 and it also says you have to choose 3 of your classes. It doesn't say it has to be your 3 highest, so it could be people's favorite classes. Anyway I am of the mind that high levels doesn't automatically equal that the person knows more than someone who has lower ranks. Sometimes a person rushes though so fast they miss a lot. Someone who may have a lower rank but takes time might actually know more about the game in that aspect.
Anyway it doesn't matter to me. I'm just interested to see what people level, and who some people really are.![]()

The notice says you pick 3 classes to have linked to your profile. I'll be linking my three lowest. Like, ones I have at 0, on an alt.
Arguments should stand by their own merit, not by who said them. When threads start devolving into "but you're level 1" you know the people in there don't have a logical leg to stand on.

I agree, if someone can only use a persons supposed inexperience or ranks as an argument people can pretty much figure out that they really don't have anything to counteract your statement. At that point anything they say is just to try and make themselves feel like they actually do have a point...
Anyway I have all my ranks out for everyone to see on my sig, so they can say anything about me that they want. I'll just laugh at them if it turns to something so childish as picking on me about a rank. At least I don't mind people seeing my ranks, one person insulted my ranks so I told them to tell me theirs if they were so much better than myself. Of course I never got a response from them, but then again I didn't expect one either.
