Pfft, time shmime. That's what the echo is for. You underestimate me if you think a little thing like "chronology" is going to interefere with my ability to see that zone one day.
Konami Code???I know how to get there, you have to go through the Black Shroud area from Gridania...
I know the Black Shroud area really sucks but just follow my instruction below and I'm sure you will get there.
Go UP the street outside of Gridania, Go UP a bit more, now go DOWN the small slope, then another slope DOWN, now make a LEFT turn on the first giant tree, then a RIGHT when you see the first crab, on the next Glow Fly turn LEFT, then a RIGHT where you see the first Drake, now look around till you see some random guy running fast past you while farting BBBBBBB sound, then next you'll see some big ass Behemoth chasing the dude growling with a sound like grAAAAAAAAAww, now open your menu and make sure you SELECT the inventory drink the juice you brought with you, now START singing.
A magic moogle will come out and teleport you to the waterfall.

Good question. Is it me or does the most memorable image from XIV (that's not in the game mind you) also look like it's from SE's stock renders of the most generic landscapes.
Sure it looks good but FF vistas have always looked AMAZING since VII. It's basically just a waterfall nothing over the top or unforgettable about it like Shinra building, stone forest, Fisherman's Horizon or the Zanarkad Road or Teleport Holla. Did Akihiko Yoshida (as much as I have a total man-crush on him) explicitly forbid the use of imagination in the scenery?
His characters are always GORGEOUS but the landscapes often seem to lack variety or color. Vagrant Story anyone?
We don't actually know whether that's olde mor dhona or whatever, but I'd absolutely love a zone like that to be in the gam/e. Lots of forest (not the tunnel-filled FFXI kind, a large, open forest) and lakes with that huge waterfall.
Would be amazing if we actually get it in the future, maybe surrounding Ala Mhigo or the zone to the northwest.
Someone recreated it with (I think?) Crysis 2's map creator, and it looked absolutely amazing albeit a bit beyond what we'd get on FFXIV itself. I'll try and find it.
it's Mor Dhana when the empire came and one of Wyvern came and attack the ship i bet the wyvern was send by bahamutit be a fun lore for sure.
