WoW MMO Wirless Mouse: Buttons 6-10 remapping

I recently purchased the Steel Series WoW Mouse. In-game mode works perfectly with WoW.

However, whenever I use the mouse in another game for example FFXIV (outside in-game mode), I cannot assign buttons 6-10 in the "Keypess Macro" section like buttons 1-5. They are assigned to "Disabled Key" by default and you can't use the other buttons unless it is in WoW through in-game mode.

I hope that a mouse which was bit expensive will have the ability or working outside the World of Warcarft.

Is there anyway to make buttons 6-10 work like 1-5 in other games?

Not sure what you are implying but your comment is not helpful at all. I hope you are not mocking my problem.

Is there anyone that can provide me with real assistance?

I'm having the same issues. I'd love to see a solid response!

I don't think there is any ideal solution but I do have another roundabout. For buttons 6-10, we have to assign it to macro corresponding to a function in the game.

I do hope we can get someone with a better answer unlike the condescending answer we first got.

You didn't get a condescending answer, you got an informed user stating that the mouse you chose, which was specifically designed for WoW, does not have support for Final Fantasy and never will.

The problem is caused by the fact that Windows as 'standard' doesn't support more than Button 5 so in order to have 6-10 work in the same way needs applications to be changed specifically to deal with them; clearly WOW has been changed by Blizzard, presumably the mouse maker paid them to do it.

The method you're using works because the mouse driver supplied with the mouse makes it so that buttons 6-10 generate key-press messages which programs can 'see'.

It seems highly unlikely to me SE will add support for non-standard esoteric devices made for other games unless paid to do so, which seems equally unlikely to me as the potential market is minimal I'd expect.

The mouse software has an import/export function... in case you run out of profile slots I suppose.

    Well.. just export one set.
Then edit it (it's a XML file, Notepad will do).
Basically change the codes to change the function/keybinds of each button

Like what this cat did. There's even a list of codes (note: Use the 2nd column, not the Windows nor the BIOS codes).

Not sure why you would need that many key binds for this game. In WoW i used 15, but in FFXIV I use 4 and i bind like 4 others just because im so use to having so many haha... But again im a PLD so 1 2 3 is really all i need.
