Final Fantasy X-related event

"This", so eloquently put, is in reference to "fan service".

I want it, most people who've been playing ff for years want it, and it's ridiculous to think it's not already happening and is going to happen more.

Ya, let's not pull from other brilliant games we've made...that makes sense. *rolls eyes.

Just because I don't want it, doesn't mean you have to be a jerk. It's called an opinion, and last I checked these were forums. When you post a topic do you really think that only the people that agree with you are going to respond? If so, then it must be nice living in your bubble of a world where no one disagrees with you. I hate to break the news to you, but I do disagree with you. As do many others I've spoken to. You make it sound like you speak for ALL the FF fans across the globe or something, and everyone is just chomping at the bit hoping we get some Cloud and Sephiroth in our game too.

There's no reason to have cross over events that bring other characters from main games into the world of Eorzea. XI and DQX events are one thing, but do we need 5 Lightning chapters? No, we don't. Gold Saucer, Ultima Weapon, that stuff is one side of fan service, the other, the one where we're going to have a bunch of KH events too and Sora outfits with keyblades, is the type of fan service I don't want. That's like if WoW had events where Zerg invaded Azeroth and you fought next to Jim Raynor to kill them! :O Oh but wait, if you do all six chapters you get space marine armor and you can carry around cans of beer on your character as vanity! No thanks.

Let the worlds be their own worlds, without random "Oh no I got teleported here from another dimension!" events occurring. They aren't even written well, and since they aren't written INTO the lore to begin with, there's absolutely no reason for them to have events like that, other then to sell more copies of the game they're trying to promote. Again, stuff like a cross over event, where you do a FATE with some monsters from another game, you get a pet that no one will use in a week, is fun, it's kinda nifty, and it's not eye rolling.....at least in my opinion.

And I said "most" not "100%".

It is ridiculous to think this isn't going to happen more, and that it's not resourceful and efficient. And you're quoting someone who said "it need it's own identity". It's not going to happen anymore than it has. Its a final fantasy game, it's going to feel like a final fantasy game, and it's what creates most of the appeal. It's not doing well because it's not a final fantasy game.

Adding nostalgic elements from previous titles only adds to the immersion for most of us, again not 100% of us.

A KH event...omg that would have made a great valentines themed event!, and that WoW event...don't be surprised if some blizzard dev read your idea on the zerg and jim raynor, and is now in talks at their underground lair to bring about that event. =P

Please no more fan service. The games need their own identity.

Having common themes (ie Jobs, Names, Summons, ect) is fine but we need to stop having main characters from other games warp randomly into Eorzea.

I haven't seen much fan service in the game... oh wait you're not talking about that kind of fan service. Never mind.

If they had plans to, it would have happened around the Japan release but that came and went and nothing happened

It makes more sense to have vanity fan service in an MMO. Though they're busy packing it all in to Lightning Returns.

First off, I'm sorry if there's already a thread going for this or if it's the wrong section.

I would like to see an event in FFXIV:ARR to go along with the release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.

We currently have the "Lightning Strikes" event in play to go along with the upcoming NA release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, so I see no reason not to have an event for Final Fantasy X.

I would hope I'm part of the majority who feels that Final Fantasy X > XIII, seeing as it was the last of Final Fantasy's "Golden age." I'm not too concerned with the X-2 part of the upcoming HD remaster, just the X part, which thank Hydaelyn is giving us North Americans our long overdue international version experience with all the hard stuff.

Some weapons would be nice, some visual gear, maybe a minion or unique furnishing would be awesome. I don't really have ideas for what to make the event, but I just see it: If you can do one for XIII, you can do one for X!

I don't see it happening. As mentioned before it would have happened with the Japanese release just like the Lightning Returns events. Though fans may have liked X over XIII, I think the way the company sees it is XIII is as successful as VII who also has many branched games surrounding it, hell Lightning Returns pays homage to Cloud in her new game by getting his costume and weapon. XIII is the new poster child and they are just feeding off of this hype. Though if memory serves, X, XII, and XIII all have had shaky pasts. I hear a lot of negatives from all three of these despite the sales they make. IX was the last time I've ever heard good things about the Final Fantasy series and a lot of fans blame X for the downward spiral they feel Final Fantasy is falling in.

I'd like to see a battle alongside Yuna, Rikku, and Pain with the three holding the base roles of Healer (Yuna), DPS (Rikku), and Tank (Pain).

For FFX I'd rather a add in Ronso or Ronso like Race. They had females so they can't call lack of gender renders like they do with the Banga, Nou Mu, Seeq, and Viera, though I don't see why that should be any bother. Include one that is one gender and another that is another. Its seriously not that big of a deal.

Hehe, that is so true. I still remember the old joke from FFXI, that "there was more Sephiroth-clones in FFXI than there was in FFVII."
