Hmmm not sure if troll post or real post but just in case...
There are missions and quests plainly marked on your map. The round bubbles are quests and the ones that look like a blazing sun are main story line.
cool thanks not being a troll I'm just really stuck but thank you![]()
Well, it's hard to say what to do next if we don't know what you've already done.
This link:
http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Ma...est/Level_1-15
has a listing of the first 15 levels of Main Scenario Quests. (As a gladiator, you must have started in Ul'dah, so you'd be doing the ones in the third column. Ignore the first two columns, as those are for players who started in Gridania or Limsa Lominsa.)
Check the "Completed Quests" tab of your Jounal with "Main Scenario Quests" category filter to see which of these you've already done and where you need to pick up from.
Then there are lots of sidequests as well. They're marked on your in-game map, so shouldn't be that hard to find.

Sounds like you're new to the whole MMORPG scene too. Welcome to the game and the genre. Try not to take the chat too personally.
As Anima said, quests are shown by yellow and black circles with 'Q' in them. A similar set of symbols, but with tendrils radiating out like a sun/fire are called main story quests. Generally, you will want to do the main story quests as soon as possible. Those will unlock features of the game such as leves and dungeons for you. Feel free to do as many of the sidequests as you like, although I would recommend you at least do your class quest (i.e. from the gladiator guild) when you can. They give equipment and additional abilities to use in combat.
You may just be too low a level right now... You need to be level 10 to start doing your job (gladiator)... Once you h it ten you can go to them and they will start giving you storyline... If your still lost for things to do you can use the recommendations feature and it will tell you whats available in your area... If nothing pops then its time to explore something else... The beginning is a little slow getting used to stuff but soon it will flood you with more stuff than you can handle...
You may have hit a patch where you need to gain a level to get the next set of quests. I know there are some level 10 quests at Horizon in Western Thanalan. Make sure you're doing your Hunting Log, stop at every quest icon you see above someone's head, and jump in on every FATE you come across. I'm working on a secondary character right now and just got it to Ul'dah last night. In a couple hours I had GLA to 7 and THM to 11. So look around and make sure you're doing everything available. Turn on Recommendations so that it pops up every time you zone into a new area if you need to.
There is a menu option to turn show recommended quests whenever you enter a new area. You can turn that on to see a list of the available quests in that region. That will let you know if you should check your map or not.
For your level in Ul'dah check around Black Brush, Horizon, and Silver Bazaar.
thanks for the info![]()
