    What does blacklisting actually do?

I know that when we get our usual RMT spammers we hit the blacklist button and the tells are gone. That's great. However, say I run into a jerk in DF and well whadya know, he's on my server! I happily add him to my blacklist, but I feel like I can still see him putting up parties in party finder. In fact I may have even been put into a CT raid with this guy! What gives?

So my question is what does blacklist actually do? Does it only block the person from chatting? I would like that if we blacklist someone, that we never have the chance to party with them again

It blocks them from sending you tells or invites, and they no longer show up in your chat log, whether they are shouting, yelling, etc.

In fact, the blacklisted person often doesn't have a clue that you blisted them. They get no message like "is ignoring you." So they will probably continue to send you messages. You just can no longer see them. So essentially, blacklisting effects *you* not them.
