No. We don't need every real life event to be represented in game form. It's bad enough they have a valentines event... And let's be honest Winter Olympics is like the Olympics retarded step sister.

Hey, don't hate on winter olympics. There's no argument that summer has the much slower (speed) events. Plus snowboarding. The only event that requires failing a particular type of drug test to participate. Personally I like seeing unpopular sport that requires skill and athletics. I'm not a fan of basketball or golf as events, which summer has.

Though figure skating (judging, at least) is absolutely corrupt. Any "sport" where getting a higher score than the 2nd place person results in a worse place finish than getting a lower score needs to be put to a swift and permanent death. I actually watched them explain this a few olympics back.

Oh, no need to surface that Coerthas ice. Keep it pebbled and let's do some curling round-robin instead.

While I could see them doing a string of quests for the olympics, I would rather not, as it has nothing to do with Eorzea. If Eorzea had sports (other than PVP) I could see them adding in Eorzea Olympics.

Of course, I would hate to have to carry a torch from the Ifrit Aetheryte to Corthas to initiate the games...

An Olympic event would be cool. Blizzard did this a few times and you could earn an Olympic related pet in their games.

I prefer events that put highlight on the FF universe instead of the regular one.
